There aren’t any turns north/south at this point. It’s moving steadily NW as projected. Outer Banks are in a Hurricane Warning as they should be considering hurricane force winds are extending 70 miles out from the center. It’s not going to take a direct hit (which I believe will be Wilmington) to cause immense damage.

American WX is a hilarious forum in the winter.

Www.wxdisco.com is the new Accuweather forum site. More competent posters in my experience.

I do like Cranky as well. He does super detail analysis and remains pretty unbiased. Just can be stubborn sometimes.

For just models, I use TropicalTidbits since it's free.

FYE, for those who like seeing wind and waves, if you YouTube Frying Pan Cam Florence there's a webcam showing 24hr coverage from a camera posted 35 miles off the NC coast. You can watch the storm roll in, seems like a cook idea.

nearly 2' of rain expected in my parents' neck of the woods, south of Wilmington NC. they got outta there a few days ago. they got a brick house but it'll be interesting to see how their area handles all that rain

I'm more worried about the flooding than anything. My parents neighborhood floods with a good rainstorm. I can't imagine what 2 FEET of rain is going to do. Thank goodness they went up to my sister's in Winston-Salem. 2 of my idiot brothers stayed in Wilmington though.

my dad told me that their region has already surpassed the average annual rainfall amount and that was BEFORE this storm rolls in. it is wet down there and it'll only get worse

ETA: and yeah, they've got neighbors who stayed home. idiots.
