Heading to the game tonight (got free tickets through work), would be just my luck for the Sox to clinch the East while I'm in attendance

Work is sending me to Tampa next week. Is it possible we clinch a wildcard spot Wednesday in Tampa? I haven’t looked at the standings in a bit.

Their magic number to secure the WC spot is 4. To clinch the home field it's 10. So, it's possible for them to clinch both while you're there if the stars align properly.

Awwwww fuck yeah. I’ll look at tix next week and the possibility of clinching will determine how much I’m willing to spend

Might be watching Tampa clinch a spot if things keep on keeping on the way they are. They're just 5 games back now. Incredible.

It’s not Price’s fault Nunez can’t field a grounder. Though to be fair, Price let those runners on base.

    But there were two outs.

He pitched a decent game anywhere but Yankee stadium tonight. The important thing for you is....just like that the lead is only 9.5. Crazy stuff.

Hoping for the sweep tomorrow so the Sox inevitable division title celebration is delayed

The division has been out of reach for months for us at this point.

Funny thing is though, Price didn’t pitch a decent game in the park he was pitching in. Crazy stuff huh?

Same here. The dimensions argument is so dumb. It’s been the same dimensions since 1976.

But man is it fun to see him fold like a house of cards when he’s at Yankee Stadium. It never fails.

Yeah but that doesnt fit the sox fanbase’s narrative after last night’s game, so now what are they gonna do?

My narrative is stop making excuses, sounds like I'm on the same page as Price. As for what are they going to do, I don't know maybe win the division by 10 games or so.

Haha as a Yankee fan this made me laugh.

Exactly. They are basically delaying the inevitable. I love beating Boston, but still, the division is a little bit of a landslide and good for y'all. Hopefully the Yanks get a chance to meet the Sox in the playoffs.

Even though the division is meaningless at this point, these wins will help the team get back in a groove, which is what you want heading into the playoffs. If we can sweep the best team in baseball heading into the final 10 games of the season, it will do a lot to restore their confidence as a team. Even though the Sox essentially have nothing to play for, they still put their best lineup out there last night.
