Warehouse is the most "DMB" song they have in the catalogue, IMO. A full-blown Warehouse with all intros/jams/interpolations covers pretty much all of the DMB bases.

LA Bayou. Catches the band at the height of their creativity, unbeknownst to them at the time, and sees them branching out into a new sound and direction. This song pays homage to the DMB of old, while masterfully interplaying with the future direction and style that the band would take. A huge part of that was Batson’s unique production choices, which came at the perfect time in the band’s journey.

To me, it's The Stone, mostly for how great it is on its own merits and how it holds up for different reasons in 3 different formats. On the studio you get the beautiful string quartet outro, when Dave plays it solo or with Tim you get the real Can't Help Falling in Love interpolation, then full band live you get the powerful ending.

This is a great question because probably our favorites play into what we think is their best song.

Not for me, The Stone is my choice and it's in my top 3. I could also make the argument for Crush like a lot of people here, and that's not in my top 3.

It's so tough though! I doubt anyone here will say Crash or Satellite are in their top 3, but they are, arguably, in my opinion, very good well written and important DMB songs.

Studio: flawless recording and arrangement with powerful lyrics and vocal delivery. The whole band shines

Live: The song works as a D&T song in a small theatre or in front of 80K in Central Park.

If you want to introduce someone to the band and really show an example of all the elements that make them great, put #41 on.

I'd fall into the category. I think it's tough to argue that The Stone or Crush are probably the best songs the band has put out--and I love hearing them--but my personal favs are Minarets, Typical, and Grey Street.

I do. Kit Kat is top 3 for me but I don’t think it’s their best work. I just absolutely love the bridge or chorus whatever you want to call it. It’s such a beautiful piece of music that moves me every time I hear it.

12-15 mins of Jimi is too much. give me the sub 10 from last year and i'd appreciate it much more
