That's the problem I see ahead for this show. I mean, it's great now, but if every episode is basically the same (Dex wacks a badguy or two and the other killer leads him on more) it's going to get old fast. I hope they keep it fresh.

Absolutely. Couldn't agree more.

Have you checked out any of the writers of the show? Obvioulsy it has a huge ex-HBO acting cast, but I haven't checked to see who any of the writers are. That might be telling as to the potential longevity of the show and perhaps even as to the direction of then plot twists of the show.

No. Good call. Maybe I'll do that now. Oh and check my last post's edit.

If you're talking Showtime On Demand, I have that, and in where I am, only the first 2 are up. Let me know though... I might give in to temptation.

Lauren Gussis (staff writer) - pretty newbish. Not done much.

James Manos Jr. (teleplay/producer) - has produced and written a lot of stuff, including several Sopranos episodes. Early ones.

Timothy Schlattmann (writer) - a lot of random TV shows. Nothing too great.

Sara Colleton (executive producer) - some film work. OK stuff.

John Goldwyn (executive producer) - Police Academy 2 is on his resume. Sweet lord.

Drew Z. Greenberg (producer) - Lots of Smallville/Buffy/O.C. on resume.

Interesting mix...We shall see, I guess.

Regardless of my drunken predictions... I think this show has great potential.

    Not very impressive.

I've noticed it too. Alot of cheezy dialogue, bad acting and stuff like that which came as bit of a surprise, considering it's Showtime.

But Michael C. Hall saves the show no doubt. Can't wait to catch the next ep.

I said God damn. Best episode yet (even though it didn't involve a Dex kill.)

    SPOILER WARNING:

Wondering if the kid is gonna be a vitcim or a protege. Seems like it could go either way, depending on whether or not the kid heeds Dex's warning.

Much more insight into the beginning of Dex.
    Damn good ep.

Also, one more ex-Oz character tonight (Cyril O'Reiley as one of the cops who fucks the OTHER Oz character over).

    I'll post in your blog.
Dexter is a kick ass show. Last episode was pretty good. He can't get caught, he's too slick. Plus if he gets caught I think the Ice Truck Killings will stop too....unless it's his cussing sister...or someone else...ugh I can't figure it out. But good show

I've got the first 11 episodes saved to data disc. I need to watch them, but will probably end up doing so after I download the 12th.

idk if anyone is interested, but the first two episodes of season two were leaked. You can find them here to download.

    http://www11.alluc.org/alluc/tv-show...gory_uid=16026

The only problem with watching them is knowing you won't get to see the third episode for another two months.

I dropped Showtime last year after the end of Weeds/Dexter.

May have to pick it back up again here in a month or so....

I've never gotten into watch shows like this on TV. The only series I really followed ever was Friends. But, out of sheer boredom a few days ago I decided to watch this show cause it was On Demand on my cable. Wow. Am I glad I decided to give it a chance. This show is amazing! Michael C. Hall had become one of my favourite actors, and Dexter is now one of my favourite characters in film or TV. Brilliant stuff, and what about that finale!? Crazy!

Here's to season 2 starting soon!

Glad you're on board. I would highly recommend reading the books. Although the show quite honestly is better than the books, they are still worth the read. I've heard the second season will not be too heavily based on the second book.

Third book comes on Sept 18th and the show starts back up Sept 30th.

But if you can't wait that long, you can download the first two episodes.

Yeah, I'm planning to look for the book after work tomorrow. But, I wonder what will happen to the show now that they're not going to stick to the books.

Well Season One had a ton of stuff that wasn't in the book, different characters and plot lines, which makes sense. I mean it's not like turning a 40404 page book into a 2 hour film. This was 200 page novel turned into 12 hours worth of tv.

I haven't read it, but my friend has and he said that the first season was based on the book. But he said the book should have been longer.
I love this show, but I don't get showtime, so i have to wait till they come out on dvd like i had to with season 1. I think it's a great premise and is pulled off really well.

Since you have internet, I could hook you up with a tvtorrents.com invite and you can download each show about a day after it airs.
