I’m going to assume that you’ve had this conversation before and someone provided you the context for both of those absurd statements and you chose to ignore them.

But for the hell of it... you’re aware that there were two separate and opposing hate groups at that Charlottesville event, correct? Not just a small group of neo-Nazis. You are aware that the event was not organized by neo-Nazis but by conservatives who had their event crashed by a small group of neo Nazis, correct? There were good and bad people on both sides. It’s a completely normal thing to say but I’m sure the context doesn’t fit your narrative.

And discrimination lawsuits? At least read the man’s book before you go with that baseless comment. He purchased a building, renovated it, and raised the rent. The tenants could no longer afford it, had to move out, and sued him for racial discrimination. It’s called gentrification and it’s a normal part of society. But, again, doesn’t fit your narrative.

The guy spouting the Trump narrative has a lecture for everyone on their narratives. How enlightening.

I'm no fan of antifa, but at least they aren't declared racist shitheads like the neo-nazi losers that took over the event. And if the neo-nazis hadn't put out their rallying cry there would be no antifa there in the first place. You speak of the original organizers of the event. Well they are racists too. Defending a statue put up in a recent era to praise the losers of a war that they were fighting to keep and treat human beings like animals. There's your 'good guys'. Your narrative blows.

I think now that our government has been aligned in a different direction and is no longer fanning the flames, the racial divide we saw during those years has died out a bit but it was almost off limits to have these discussions back then.

I think the Peterson stuff is a microcosm for the reactionary age we live in where people read the headline or watch the highlights and feel like they have the whole story and immediately react.

Or in that same vein, they see how their like minded peers are reacting and immediately shuffle themselves into that opinion category.

It's really frustrating to watch and is a big reason I pulled myself off social media. Too many uninformed megaphone types just spouting uninformed rhetoric.
