I'll just speak to making the choices - Did anyone else find themselves fighting a little recency bias if they hadn't seen a film in a while vs a film that you had seen recently? It was also difficult to keep balance and not just load it up with my favorite actors and directors. Inevitably the list is littered with favorites, but I tried to keep it balanced and give some love to more off the wall stuff that has stuck with me for years.

I've actually had the opposite problem, but I also didn't create a list from scratch. I've kept a running list since the beginning of the decade and often found it extremely difficult to measure newer releases against films that have had years to earn their classic status.
That's also why I don't consider delaying this a little further to be such a bad thing. 2019 was an especially great year for cinema, and I like giving those releases a little more time to breathe to help figure out exactly where they stack up.
Not to mention that I just added a new entry to my top 50 after watching Portrait of a Lady on Fire this morning.
