Going back to this now, really enjoying it. The sets in '13 were really good and especially early on in that tour. This Gaucho is solid, thanks!

check out the scranton show that year. its not the most impressive on paper, but there was such a different energy that night compared to most other shows i've been to. it was one of those shows where you really didn't know what was going to come next. warehouse opener, captain, jtr, that encore. the STDHer > Hunger looks like its terrible on paper, but it was super refreshing to hear because those songs are never played. it was the only STDHer of the tour, and nearly a liberation, followed by Hunger being liberated and played for the first time with tim.

If it's on YouTube I'll check it out for sure, STDH is such a great mellow song and I loved Roi on it, would be interested to see Jeff on it

    Awesome thanks!

I just miss feeling the weight of music when seeing it live, the crowd being into it, range of emotion in the music, etc. a lot

For the ones that like the jazzy part of DMB (4.0) I highly recommend the 2018.12.08 version of “Seek Up”, at Montreal, probably my fav version of the song.

    The intro is really impressive.

After all these years 2005 shows are not a bad listen at all. DMB still sounds like old DMB.

2005 is such an underrated tour. So much great music was played that tour but most get hung up on it being the Stand Up tour. I saw amazing shows that summer, including Mansfield 7/9/05.

2005 was pretty divisive with all the Stand Up material but I do recall a lot of good discussion on the tour as a whole. The Gorge stop being earlier and laying way for the Red Rocks stop also set it apart from what was to come as far as tour schedules go. I also really enjoyed every show I went to on '05 as well, especially Mansfield.

That #34 show was my first DMB show, the WYA that night is a great performance nobody ever talks about. I'd love the chance to listen again at some point.

Mansfield is a sneaky good venue that has had a lot of great shows.
I also went home to Columbus that year and caught those shows, which were great.

This is generally the time of year I start re-introducing DMB into my rotation. Specifically Busted Stuff/LWS, which has always felt like a late winter, early spring record for some reason.

I put tLWS on for the commute today, first time in quite a while; threw on Lost Souls: A Compilation of Cancellations when I got in.

I remember reading that most of the songs of LWS were recorded in earlier months of 2000 in a earlier version of Haunted Hollow that was a kind of basement with little or no sunlight at all.
I bet that this deprivation of sunlight didn’t help Dave’s mood at all. Outside was blooming and they were stuck in that basement (probably arguing most of the time). You might associate winter months to LWS songs, maybe because of that (just a guess).

And when 2000 summer tour came, the band was so happy to leave all of that behind them, that the tour was just phenomenal

The "mastered" version of JTR from LWS is anything but an "incomplete piece of art"... The mixing of Dave's scats in a flangy echoy way, the layering of the horns at the end, the jam, the lyrics. It's so damn good as we know it from those sessions and to think that Bruce said, "I don't hear a Tripping Billies" - unreal.

I concur and I could go on to the point that it could be its own thread. It's strikingly diverse and beautiful on so many levels.

    DMB Tour 2022:

All the songs from DMBAlmanac (Only DMB, no covers, etc.)

Dave and Co. will be playing spin a giant fucking wheel to make the setlist every night.

You never know what you’ll get!

Basically iTunes smart playlist in real life. I used to do that that all my taped shows and it always turned out great.
