stefan either gave a radio interview or twittered about it, but it was back in 2010, right after dreamgirl came back.

While I may not agree with the choices the band makes for a setlist and such, I always enjoy their concerts and am very excited to see them in the fall.

Cry Freedom is one of he best (Top 5 ) songs Dave has ever written.

If Only is a terrible song and on the same level as Smooth Rider.

I don't enjoy the 41 jams, they go nowhere and they seem to go on forever at shows

I really like the studio versions of dreamgirl, out of my hands, and steady as we go

LWS Grey street sucks. Lyrics are nonsense

Angel is a good song with a fantastic guitar riff

I haven't listened to UTTAD in years

Studio two step is great and my go to two step if I don't have 20 minutes to listen to a recent live version

I agree with all of this except PFWYG. I would agree its overrated, but IMO it is a very good song.

I'll agree with Snow Outside if you are purposely omitting the Lillywhite Sessions.

    1. i really want someone on the keys and prefer them to have some solos
    2. i want less rashawn, especially less rashawn during jeff solos (not sure this is unpopluar)
    3. halloween is an average song
    4. joyride is below average, and I, in no way, want it on a studio album
    5. Old Dirt Hill is very enjoyable and i would love it at a show

Awesome song to hear live. The first time I heard it live was my first show and a Dave solo. I was amazed. To think that Dave could write these lyrics at (approx) 22 years old is amazing. He had such an incredible talent to phrase words and put a story at such a young age. He was very in touch with what was going on in the world and the themes of his songs varried so much.

Cry Freedom is a beautiful song, poem, and piece of art.

    1. The outro of Mercy is the closest thing to Roi we will get for the rest of the bands life.

    2. Dreamgirl is decent live (Go back and listen to Roi's sax on some of the '05 6-7 minute versions)

    3. Dave needs to sing the first verse of Jimi Thing every time

    4. I think the Warehouse is a joke... paying for the right to buy tickets? Seems almost evil to me...

    5. With modern technology, I think it's a joke that DMBLive series isn't every single concert they've ever recorded. I mean who wouldn't pay 30-40$ for a mastered copy of every show they've seen live?

    absolutely to all of this.

"Hands and feet are all alike
    But gold between divide us
Hands and feet are all alike
    But fear between divide us,
    Slip away
In this room stood a little child
And in this room this little child she would remain
    Until someone might decide
To dance this little child across this hall
    Into a cold, dark space
Where she might never trace her way across this crooked mile
    Across this crooked page
    Cry freedom, cry
From deep inside where we are all confined
    Till we wave our hands"

there is more substance in those lyrics than all of ED, SU, and BW combined; something you would expect from a wise old man who has traveled the world and seen things that the average person wouldn't even dream of seeing.

-I think #40 should never be played again. Dave has no intention of writing or singing words, won't play it for more than 2 minutes, and never seems happy to play it. Fans should quit asking for it and ask for an E1 Typical or Nancies instead.

-While I love the songs from UTTAD, I hate the studio recordings of everything on it minus Ants and #34

-SPAC isn't any more entitled to "great" setlists than every other venue (and fwiw, of the 10 shows I've seen, 6 have been at SPAC). Venue wars are ridiculous and setlists don't mean jack as to what places the band likes to play best. We all known the band loves the Gorge, but look at the '09 sets where Danny Barnes played half his album.

-The Time Bomb intro on Two Step isn't as horrible as everyone says, and the old improv intros were very hit and miss.

    Solid 4th post.

I agree with #40. I think the only thing Dave gets out of it is teasing the crowd and pissing us off.

I respectfully disagree with the venue comment. Venue wars are dumb, but they are definitely bias towards certain venues.

I agree that they are certainly biased towards venues, but my point is more that setlists are not always indicative of venue favoritism.

Great venues can get shit shows, like Gorge '09, and awful venues can get tremendous shows (darien, camden, and hershey are all low quality venues that have gotten spectacular sets).

I think venue bias has more to do with the actual performances of songs rather than which specific songs they play.

Can't Stop might have been my favorite performance from the Chicago Caravan last year

I liked the return of "Everybody Wake Up"- loathe the studio version

Dave should never strum the chords to #40 unless he will recall or write lyrics, even if the last full band was a few extra verses that turned into You and Me....

I like D&T One Sweet World" much better than full band
