Yes. My son and I are playing in the golf outing. We're planning on using rental clubs. Looks like a good course.

Does anyone know when we can make dinner reservations? Would like to do a relaxing "nice" dinner on the night of arrival. On show nights will probably eat in the venue.

I found through other research that you can’t make reservations until you’re checked in. I’ve got the same idea as you. May do a nice dinner one of the show nights as well and miss the opener.

Just a heads up, We can see our resort assignment through the Palace app by putting in our reservation #. Looks like we were assigned to Nizuc. No complaints!

It is the package ID number under Purchase Info on the Dashboard.


I don't think all of the assignments are done. Mine isn't in there yet.

Mine wasn’t there this afternoon but I tried it again this evening and now it’s there. Can’t really tell anything about the reservation other then I’m in the sunrise side.

We're in Nizuc. Downloaded the Moon Palace app, where I was able to log into our reservation and upload our passport info and submit their medical history questions. Who knows if it'll speed things up at check in, but hell, can't hurt.

I’m also in Nizuc. Not sure if that’s good or bad haha. I think it’s slightly closer to the venue.

Heads up, someone who’s going to playing in the sand next week said the assignment in the app doesn’t mean much. They said it kept changing up until arrival and isn’t final until you check in at the resort.....

That may be true for traditional Moon Palace guests, but in the past CID has offered special advance reservations for show nights that we could book in advance. May not happen this year, but in previous years the option opened up 10-14 days before the trip in the CID dashboard.

FYI I just received this back from CID.... "Thanks for reaching out to us! Room assignments are still being made, so at this point in time we don't have reservation numbers to share with guests. This being said, room assignments are not finalized until check-in, so the Moon Palace shouldn't be able to confirm any information just yet. This far in advance from your reservation you likely are not able to utilize the Moon Palace app or website features. If there's anything in specific you're looking to arrange, let us know and we'll be happy to provide you with additional information!"

Someone shared the venue map for Playing in the Sand next week in the FB group as well, in previous years the stage area and setup is consistent between the different show weeks, so this is likely what the new stage setup will look like. VERY close to previous years, but more ocean views. This time they've put all the food and beer tents along the tree line instead of along the water. Kinda hard to zoom in on the symbols but appears to be a beer and churro stand by the beach club along with bathrooms and photo op on the beach. then you pass the medical tent and there is the giant sand sculpture (photo opp) and the row of concession stands (tacos, nachos, churros, beers, drinks etc). Then two more large areas of bathrooms.

I don't see a merch stand on the map, unless it's to the far right by the entrance.

The entire stage setup appears to take up the entire beach in front of the Grand.

I was able to use the app to look up my reservation and use it's "features" but as previously discussed, it could all be meaningless this far out.

Here is the welcome packet the attendees of "Playing in the Sand" received this week. Obviously there setup won't be the exact same in terms of activities, merch, etc. but we can expect some of the resort and venue information to stay the same! ��

Thanks for posting this. I really hope there is the option to pre-buy merch like they have for PITS. Seems incredibly convenient!

I will be playing in the golf event as a single. I'm flying Southwest from Denver so will be bringing my own clubs but they will have nice rentals as well for an additional fee. I played in the event last year at Mayakoba and it was really fun. It was a four person scramble format although you aren't required to compete if you want to play your own ball. It looks like they will also have free driving range access for two hours each day as well which is nice.

Since I'm lugging my clubs all the way down I will probably try to get in a round in on Friday at the Riviera Cancun club which is just a few minutes away and also a Jack Nicklaus course if anyone is interested in joining!

The app shows us in Sunrise, but another section of the app says Nizuc. I'm not putting too much faith in that info at the moment.

Do we need to start sharing proximity request keys so we're all in Nizuc? lol

Last year I had the same idea, but we were told same-day reservations needed to be made before 3pm for dinner. We arrived just after 3pm on Wed and only had reservations for show nights (like Cheryl said), so I was disappointed. However, when we sat down at the ocean front buffet, it was all good!

I’m not sure what the policy will be this year, but I just wanted to share the info. Also.. can’t believe we’re on to the 30 day countdown
