Same here on the beers front. Only time I've ever gotten remotely drunk on the course was this past June for my buddy's 30th bday scramble. Even then, I wasn't super fucked up or anything. At most I will pick up two beers at the turn and drink them from like holes 10 through 14.

I don't understand the appeal of these youngsters getting plastered and wrecking carts, falling over while trying to swing, etc. I mean, those days are clearly very far behind me at this point in my life but I still don't think I would have found that enjoyable even in my early 20's

I only drink on the course when I'm playing a scramble in an outing. Otherwise I'm stone sober.

There is a lot of this at my current club. It's a big reason I am leaving.

Noles you were saying you're going to take a bunch of lessons and not play much golf next year, wouldn't you want to see how what you are working on is translating to playing? I had a lesson last night, will be taking lessons throughout the winter and ready to go when the courses open, same concept as you basically for the next several months.

I think more time practicing instead of getting on the course is what I need. I can play public courses when I want to see how I am progressing. Not liking my current club is a part of this decision. I want to make sure that when I join another club I A) find a club that is long term for me and B) am playing well enough that I will want to keep playing.

The guy I take lessons from won a sponsors exemption into the Barbasol next year for being the top PGA Pro in Kentucky. That’s pretty cool.

Played ok yesterday, shot 87. Hope to get out on Friday and Sunday this week if the weather continues to cooperate. Playing way more in November than I expected.

Same here, this November has been surprisingly great for golf! I played on Saturday and shot a 91, happy with it considering I just took a lesson and I'm swinging pretty differently, got some of it right on the course and had fun.

    Nice doods.

Was hoping to play this week but it’s in the low 40s.

Played on Saturday....nice little 120 haha. By no means am I good but I'm not usually THAT bad!

Not even mad since I'm only in year 2 of playing. Definitely still in the learning phase. Probably my last time out for the year but will play some indoor golf over the winter.

Also some crazy folk out there this weekend. I'm about to tee off and a ball sails through the trees and drops right in front of me. Another foot and I would've gotten nailed.

Then 10 or so minutes later on the same hole we are walking off the green and our cart gets nailed. My friend absolutely lost it on them. Neither group yelled Fore for either one.

CPO has some great deals today. New Toulons for $210. I picked up a PM Grind wedge to screw around with for $60.

Have also spent a lot of time on CPO the past 2 weeks. Left-handed and CPO this weekend has been like Ticketmaster; looking for a "drop" of certain iron sets and then just missing out on then; inventory changing frequently. Daughter just turned me on to Rakuten; 3% cash-back at CPO.

I’ve been well behaved. Have to survive day without buying a Toulon.

Rakuten is dangerous drug. I spent 400 but saved 12 has led to a lot of dumb spending.

So I got out last Friday and Sunday. Shot 90 both days. Not pleased. Had a great back 9 going on Sunday and completely choked on the last two holes. Looks like those may be my last two rounds for quite a while. Now I've got to stew on this for who knows how long.

I haven't played in a few weeks and am thinking, notwithstanding maybe one or two rounds on a random nice weekend day, that that's all for me this season. Just been too damn cold, sun goes down way to early for me to have a workday round, and weekends book up like crazy and/or I have too much going on to escape for 5 hours.

Unless something drastically changes with COVID we are also not going to be making our yearly Florida trip in late Feb/early March, so this is probably it for me until like early April

Definitely saw a lot of improvement this year, though. I'm a good 5-6 strokes better than I was at the end of the 2019 season, hoping to keep that up heading into next year and really start hitting mid to low 80's consistently by the end of next season.

Same! Haven't seen them much bc of COVID and now I moved from Worcester to Hopkinton. Did see Jess and Tim a couple weeks ago. Tim helped me move my treadmill out of the basement so Jess came down and we had a few beers

Awesome, everything going well in Hopkinton? That'll be such a fun place to be when the world is back to normal every April! I still talk to Pete practically every day but that's just because we are bffs

    Tee time woes continue.

It’s going to be barely over 50 out and Saturday and Sunday are completely booked at the three closest coursed to me.

Nice Steng, do you have a place where you can hit balls throughout the winter or do you typically pick things back up when the weather improves?

Not Steng, but my Sunday group usually continues through winter with indoor simulators. With the rona, I would imagine that's not going to happen this year. Will have to start cold in spring.
