I liked WW too but I'm not mourning that franchise as I think WB/DC will keep that going even as the rest of the DCEU is dismantled/restructured

I really can't wait to see this movie, Phoenix is my favorite actor and Joker is my favorite villain. Its like PB&J for me.

That 30 second teaser is already better than the entirety of the Aquaman or Shazam movies. Give me a grounded, gritty take on the Joker's origin (even though I still don't think the Joker should have an origin) over a generic CGI-fest any day.

Overall - agree. Looks good though. I hope they eventually give him something of a classic B:TAS look, but as a start/test - this is excellent.

Now we wait for them to fuck it up!

My guess is that this look is more Arthur in his stand up routine more than the Joker.

I'm more curious to see how there can be a Joker with no Batman...unless we are in for a major surprise. How fucking cool would that be if Batman showed up out of nowhere in this movie?

Think it’s an origins movie isn’t it? So it would be pretty easy to have no Batman in this one. Not sure how long they could keep it going sequel wise without him though.

Right...but a pretty common "origin" for the Joker has been that he was "created" or first appeared as a response to Batman cleaning up the Gotham mob. He always represented the first of the Rogue's Gallery in that he was an actual supervillian and not mob-affiliated. They pretty much nailed this dynamic in The Dark Knight though so I'm not sure they'd rehash all that.

I just think the Joker is most interesting as a direct contrast/compare to Batman. It's why they're the best hero/villain combo of all time.

I am loving the DC Universe. I got the app on my Apple TV and I've been in bed reading Green Lantern comics. It pans/zooms across the panel so reading comics is really fun on a big TV.

Also, loving all the old TV. I was watching the 70's Superfriends with my 4 year old last night.
