I do love Alpine!

I haven't been to the Gorge itself for concerts before but I've been to Washington/Oregon and they're beautiful. I cannot wait!!

We're road tripping it. I'm going with my two cousins, one of which is pretty much my best friend. We'll surely have a good time. Gas split three ways in a Prius will not only be cheaper than flying and renting a car and camping gear, but there's a lot of cool things to see between here and there that we've never seen before... so we're going to map it out and take our time. I think we're going to go different ways there and back so we can see more, too.

I think we plan on it... I think on the way there we're going to take a southern route and go through Colorado and on the way back, take 90/94 all the way back to IL. One of the things on my 'bucket list' is to go to every state... this road trip is going to help a lot. I've seen a lot of the coasts and even Hawaii... but not much in between!

    Thanks! Will do!

I'm sure Nebraska and Iowa will suck to drive through but they can't be any worse than Indiana, central IL or S. Alabama. Haha

Solid work. Just skip your obligatory ants marching post for the evening, go right for the porn, and go the f to bed.
Ha. Funny thing is (and I have stated this before if you could read) I paid for this shit all on my own. Good try with that though. You're failing to a whole new degree with this thread. Unlike you apparently, some people were able to budget this trip instead of bitching about the price. We already gave you a great list of why your wrong and you can't stand that you got Ants-raped. To me, that's much better than porn So...solid work on proving that you're a fuckin retard and can't stand people not agreeing with you on any level.

And this. Ultimately this sums up the kind of person the OP is. I really hope he replies with some more dumb analogies (ones that don't even make sense for that matter). This thread is such a fail, needs locked soon. But not til the OP has the last word probably, cuz he needs that satisfaction to fill the void of whatever is missing in his life (Money ).

Hahaha, this thread is a slight joke. I'm waiting for this OP to rip me a new one over my economics of a music festival post!

I just went back and read that post you're talking about, and you said "I have a degree in economics". Honestly, the OP won't understand your logic anyway. "Solid Work though" <--- OP's fine try at being a sarcastic asshole which I find humorous to replicate.

Haha, no they probably won't. There hasn't been a response to it though so I'm just waiting. I mean, the logic does make sense, correct? lol

To be fair, and this is besides the ridiculous back and forth, there is something to be said for the location of the fests. Its not like you are buying a ticket and then living off of parking lot grilled cheeses and camping (i.e. the Phish comparison). There are some ridiculous costs to attend three nights in most of these cities (the Gorge being the exception) or some inconveniences to stay outside of the city and trek in.

Still, I like the idea of the caravans. I wish they would be ballsier and go for a true festival setting though.

excellent point...being that I provided the phish example, let me explain in a little more detail. The fello that started the thread stated that the following:

    "WHAT IS A MAIN POINT?

    - A "PAYMENT PLAN" to purchase concert tickets, in the history of decent music, is unheard of."

I just wanted to site that another, i would suggest "respectable" band did provide a payment plan and that face value for tix were in the same ball park (actually almost identical), not considering indirect costs, which they presumably do not receive a kickback on.

Solid points though about the grilled cheese. I did luck out on a pretty cheap hotel for AC (split with 2 other people it comes out to ~120 for three nights), and also live in the nyc area, so the Governor's Island costs are just face value of tix. In the end, the two locations worked out perfectly for me...not to rub it in for those who face some logistical challenges.

The tragedy of all of this is that last week, I finally caved, got another Capitol One credit card, and got on the payment plan.

I've got a few questions about these Chicago tickets. 1. Do you guys think Saturday tickets will sell out and if so, will they sell out fast? 2. Is the only day with a Summer Camp band on Saturday? 3. The Dave and Tim Show is Saturday right? I'm trying to decide if I should buy a single day for Saturday, hoping the Summer Camp band will be Umphrey's or Lotus. Plus I'd really like to see Dave and Tim, but I really don't want to spend over 200 for a 3 day pass, I've already spent way too much on concerts/festivals for this summer. Thanks ahead.

I would assume saturday will sell out quicker than the other 2 with the Saturday stage and D&T. If you want to go and have the available funds do it. But do it quickly so that if it does sell out you have a ticket. It would suck to finally decide you wanna go to saturday in like 2 or 3 weeks and then the tickets are gone when you try to make the purchase.

    Alright, Ants,

You got me. I guess I'm just not up to the financial and social level of those that are capable of investing 2,000 + posts of their lives to a major independent DMB fan site.

I also can't commit to 200 + to a 3 day pass. I'm sorry for not realizing that the most popular band coming out of the (arguably) worst musical decade in U.S. history, deserves whatever they or their management decides, that we should give them.

    What do you go for?

    What do you listen for?

    The songs? The party? Yourself?

Please...there's plenty of reasons why this band is nearing it's end both live and behind the scenes and I'd bet dollars to doughnuts its because of knee-jerk twittering, facebook fucks like you morons.

Go climb another tree and celebrate something that you had no direct part of.

    Go away.

I think the more important question is still how, at 8 years old, did you hear of a band that was barely known outside Virginia?
