Man I miss those late August/September shows in Tx! I always enjoyed those a little more. Band already had their groove going, made for some good shows.

They probably need to find another venue. Things were far enough along that Sleepy Bear felt comfortable selling camping for the 20th, so something must've fallen through between Ruoff and the lantern folks is my guess.

Festivals to me just turn into teaming masses of sweaty people crisscrossing each other while attempting to get to stages they can barely see from, terrible food, endless lines, hippies, driving and parking nightmares that can only be rivaled by Mansfield MA amphitheater



Small festivals like Life is Good which D&T played at are still bad but okay-ish

I learned in the late 90's how much festivals sucked, between Woodstock and Ozzfest. The music is usually good but everything else not so much. Europe loves their festivals though. Not sure if it is better than here.

Rothbury was amazing. I get what you are saying and would not do a festival now, but that was one great festival and having DMB there the one year was great.

I did them both. I was coughing up black (probably contaminated) soot/dirt or worse stuff for over 3 months after those shows......those great shows!!!

I did three major festivals last summer and they are a lot of fun. Y'all are just babies. As long as you're well-hydrated and have a good pair of shoes, you'll be fine. At this point, I'd rather they do Caravans. Gives me an opportunity to see a lot of different artists. Chicago Caravan was a blast.

The Caravans could certainly be improved upon in terms of venue and location (looking at you chicago) but the sets, setup, and vibe were all pretty sweet.

I'm not saying I couldnt physically handle a festival. The artists that are now featured in them dont appeal to me at all. Not a fan of current pop, hip hop, or edm. So I'm not going to a festival for one artist I like when I can catch a headline show for cheaper without all the other bullshit.

If DMB played a festival in Atlanta and a headline show in Charlotte I'd skip the fest and make the drive without hesitation.
