What are your favorite live songs from the current era (2018-present)?

We all know several songs that just aren’t the same without the violin, but some conversation about So Right in the drive-in thread last night got me thinking — some songs sound really, really great right now.

What are your favorite songs with the band’s current lineup?

I’m certainly not saying they’re better than they were during the Roi/Boyd days, but Bayou (never thought I’d say this), Crush, and Grace is Gone are a few others I really like right now.

Bayou and Stand up both sound better than they did, but still not favorites.

So Right and Minarets are the two I think they do best. So Right should be closing shows with that end jam. It's fantastic.

I liked Come Tomorrow, that album has almost no Boyd. So my picks would come from that album. Even I wish the band hired a new violinist.

Beyond that: The Stone, Warehouse, Crush; as those are my picks of what DMB's best songs are.

Besides the 2008 Los Angeles one, the 2018 Charlottesville one is my favorite one. Really good.

I never expected Dancing Nancies to be as good as it is without a violin.

I'm not saying its better without it, I'm just saying I'm happy to have been wrong on that front.

It blows my mind that someone consider this version of The Song That Jane Likes “as good or better” than the song with violin. In my opinion, this is the song that has degraded the most in the new format.

Well it's easy really. My introduction to STJL was on RTT, and Boyd isn't going crazy on that version.

So to me it's as good, and sometimes better considering some versions with Boyd I've listened to over the years are all over the place with his skreeing.

So as good? Sure. Better? Depends on the night. But if I got it at a 2018/19 show, I was always satisfied to see it. It's pure old school DMB that doesn't need old school DMB to do it justice.

JTR, it's the only way I've heard it (in-person) and I love it.
VItR, my favorite so far is full band (Hartford 2018), but I enjoyed Dave & Tim (on electric) at Bristow last year.
Some of Fonz's Crush intros have been amazing and then the band just slays it.
YNK, see JTR...just an amazing song.

Grace...fuck it, any BS/LWS tune we've seen has been great. GS, might be notched down slightly due to the missing verse AND chorus...the interruption of the measure build is frustrating.
LLD...last year N2 @SPAC, Jeff was amazing...

I could go on... It's really any of the tunes done well from the albums I love (so far being anything other than ED and SU). Also, no more covers...I'd boycott them if I could.
