Re: Radiohead Discussion

I don't know if anyone is interested but you can get the three of the new radiohead songs (arpeggi, where the bluebird flys, smear) in this forum:

http://radioheadnews.com/~rhnews/mb/...hp?showforum=4

Just scroll down and click on one of the threads, some of the links are dead though...

I don't know if anyone is interested, or if this is even tradeable... but my buddy was working at a radio station a while back and scored an early, unfinished version of hail to the theif... the songs are WAY different than what was released.... i liken it to the Lilywhite sessions (which are aparantly tradeable) so perhaps a B&P offer will come... but if it's not tradeable, then sucks to be you guys, cuz it's something certainly worth having.

I'd be interested, and I could help spread if it is tradeable

"We've been told that the new album should be finished by December with a release date in Feburay or March 2006."

man, so they'll have worked on it for at least 8 months. I like it when the band says they'll be working on their music.

So far I've bought The Bends and Pablo Honey, but I still don't see the appeal of Radiohead...am I missing something here? What makes them such a great band that everyone is raving about? Legitimate question here.

well... to start, you bought the two albums that are least indicative of the creativity of Radiohead. Buy any or all of the following:
    OK Computer
    Kid A
    Amnesiac

Some personalities just don't gel with Radiohead...well at first. I wouldn't force it too hard simply because everyone says Radiohead is great. Maybe they aren't you. Personally, I think they're one of the greatest bands in past decades. Also, I don't think they are a band for which you can draw a map depicting their greatness. But, you can give personal reasons. For example, Thom's vocals on The Bends and OK Computer are heartwrenching to me. Also, they've now come out with six straight highly acclaimed albums. Dave himself wonders when they are going to come out with a sub-par album, hopefully not soon. Radiohead just does something for me, makes me feel outside myself, and other stuff. It is almost a cop-out for me.

I agree that their greatness certainly veries from person to person. Personally, I simply think they are an incredible band, and one of the best to come out of the 90's.

As Obsessor said, somtimes its simply just something personal. For me, I will be listening to a song, and basically lose myself. I get reallly into it. Its like my mind just starts flowing. (keep in my this is when I'm not stoned)

no, but I do have the 8.13 mansfield show that kicked off the tour. it was a radio thing, so the sound quality's not terrible, but the crowd sound is pretty overpowering. also, the cd I have got marked, so there are only the first 41 second of backdrifts. still a great show, IM me if you're interested (or anyone for that matter) and I'll send it to you over AIM, sn's henchnu

    fuck that.

radiohead can not be truly appreciated by only listening to one album.

that's like saying someone could absolutely know and appreciate you if they only saw a video of you when you were 8.

you change from a toddler, to a teen, to a twenty something, to an adult.

radiohead will never be what they were, just what they are going to be.

and that is why i love them.
