Most fun I've had at the movies since Battleship (2012).

    Amour

Damn, what a heartbreaking movie. It's funny how well this movie fits into my current curriculum, since I'm in a neuro course and we just spent a significant amount of time going over all of the classic signs of strokes and how to treat patients with strokes. They nailed all of the stereotypical signs, which was pretty cool to see that the film makers really did their homework.

The movie itself was kind of slow, but I think that worked very well with the subject content. You can't have a movie flying forward at breakneck pace when this person's progression is just tediously getting worse. I get the Oscar love from the Academy, really good film which really made me feel for the characters. 8.5/10

It's a lot to take in, but here's a very interesting dissection of Tarantino's films, their influences, and tropes: http://whatculture.com/film/quentin-...ve-guide.php/1

About to start Life of Pi, and I'm anticipatorially bored (geez, I hope that's an actual averb). With that, I'll be done with this year's noms, and unless I have an earthshaking moment, this is a week Class of 2012.

Its fun. Doesn't take itself too seriously but at the same time has some nice moments.

Yeah I can see how people like it, and there are moments of Glee and Pitch Perfect that I enjoyed. It's just not really for me, the same way that musicals aren't for Casey and some others. Personal preference type of thing I guess.

After seeing these posts, I decided to spend my lazy Saturday watching it. I'd only seen pieces of it beforehand, all of which was awhile ago so I remembered little, and I've had it on my instant queue for almost a good year now I think. Well...

I enjoyed it ok. I was kind of getting bored throughout the middle, but the final 30 minutes were worth it. That whole middle act in general with deranged, difigured Tom was easily the only bad thing about the movie imo. I wouldn't say the movie is great, but it's nowhere near awful. I would probably give it a 7/10

It was kind of funny seeing Michael Shannon appear several times throughout this, but he only had like one line and did pretty much nothing at all

that's exactly 60 spots behind where I have it I don't think I've even watched 64 movies from 2012 yet.

have not seen pitch perfect yet, but I doubt it will be as incredible as LEes Mis was.
