I saw a form of that message on a couple church signs on my way through Florida last fall during the midst of this garbage.

So it's respectful for your religious symbol but disrespectful for our national symbol. Got it.

The anthem has always been at its most basic level "yay America" and certain players have felt that they (their people) are being let down by America, so they're not feeling that whole yay America vibe. It's pretty simple in its message and timing and purpose. But people have convoluted it.

Again, it goes back to the fact that very few people had such a big issue with it before Trump made it a bigger issue. Then all the red hatters jumped on it like they were always been outraged.

I would add that the handling by the NFL and tv networks has also exasperated the issue.

I’ve called him a political genius before here and got a lot of static.

That said, I think this strategy could be a winner for him. From what I see, his supporters love him fighting this fight and so do enough of the rest of his party.

I’ve literally said, as have many other people, that the Cowboys locking arms and kneeling before the Anthem was great.
