VA Concert - should it count as a show? It didn't originally, and it's a benefit, so their song choices might be influenced for it in a way that couldn't have been anticipated... then again, it's a DMB full band tour in the middle of the summer tour.

dmbalmanac lists it as part of the 2007 Summer Tour

dont give me this "we thought it was d&t so its rarer" well guess what we hadnt had a chance had we? i can understand the somedevil songs being on those lists cuz its offically Dave Solo and had never been played full band before. but, songs like these are causing people to get TOO many 5 point songs and they are running off with divisions.

the criterion used by Jantz to place the songs in groups was strictly the number of times the song had been played on the previous tour. if it was played at all, it was group A, B, or C. to be in group D, it had to be played not at all on the previous tour.

I know that Help Myself, Gravedigger, and SDL don't really follow this, but I don't understand why, and we've been over that we're not going to change it. I understand where you're coming from on Eh Hee. We discussed it a lot with Cornbread, and it took a lot to get it changed.

I'd say there's starting to become a bit of a case for changing Eh Hee, but I'm not going to make that call alone, and I'm not saying it's necessarily got my support to change it. When we changed Cornbread we pretty much said "that's it... no more songs, no question"

talk to Brad (bradshaw06). he's the one you'll have to convince for me to be ok with it.

for the record, I back whatever call Brad makes on this issue.

that means if he decides after proper consideration that it needs to be moved, then I'll back his decision. I might be gone for the week if that happens soon, so I'm just posting this here so that there's a record that I am behind it and that it's official.

im with you whichever way you go. im not going to win anyhow. but i just noticed that a LOT of the leaders have Eh Hee. for example look at my league, granny.



i also think for next year every song should be equal points. except here is the deal you lable a song as

Opener
Mid Set
Mid Set
Mid Set
Mid Set
Set Closer
Encore

you get 1 point for every song, but then you get 2 points if they match what category they are in.

so there is your strategy.

if you take my songs i would go like this

Opener: PNP Rapunzel
Mid Set: R&R
Mid Set: BOWA
Mid Set: American Baby
Mid Set: Jimi Thing
Set Closer: Tripping Billies
Encore: All Along The Watchtower

therefore there is strategy in you picks. you dont have to go for all closers or openers, if you get one good opener and one good closer you are good to go. however like mine, this year Billies and Wathctower are sharing the encore spot. or two step is Opener/Encore.

it just makes all the songs more equal.

or you can also have one song be your for sure song where you are 100% sure they are going to play it and you bet your 1 point to get 3 points. if its not played you get -1 point. if its played you get 3 points.

plus you can change songs up more, put them in different slots. its like in fantasy baseball, you get your base stealer and you HR hitters.

basically we are just going for HR hitters and seeing who gets the best ones.

Just out of curiosity so no big deal, or even Maya maybe you can help me out. And when were you going to tell me about the new web site. Its gonna be Sweet!!! when everyone signs up and points are tallied...also where is the leaderboard on the front page I want to see my name!!!!

You got cornbread as of the 8/2 show my lovely!

And i've plastered it everywhere, Mr! you should be paying more attention

there are a bunch of things to be done. Once everyone gets signed up the points will be set up. It's too hard to get the points working from the start of the tour, so we are just hoping to get everything done by maybe Saturday (Friday your time) so then everything will be set up (Crossing my fingers)

And i will discuss with my Lucius to see whether we can get a leaderboard.

As there was no cut and dry resolution with Eh Hee I am ruling that it will be worth 3 points instead of the 5.

We did it for cornbread its not fair to keep Eh Hee at 5.

I know Bradshaw was the man on this, but he isn't here, so this is the ruling.

If you have a problem with it, we will discuss it with John when he is back.

Howdy! I did think about adding something like this to the site, but since we are already half way through the tour, and songs have been moved between point groups, it's basically impossible (well ok, nothing is impossible but too much of a PITA).

What I could do, however, is an "estimated points" thing that shows you how many points that particular song SHOULD have earned you, based on when you picked it up, and how many points it's currently worth... If that's of any use to you
