Re: 2020 Tour Rumors

Do we know yet if the layout of the arena shows is going to be half GA/half seats (roughly), or all GA?

Grand Rapids looks to be quite a bit less than half. Maybe 25%?

Yep. Even if DMB played Hartford this year I'd probably skip it and its about 45 minutes from me. But I have no problem traveling to SPAC and the Gorge. Would have done Camden too

Yeah, this is what the fall 18 tour was like. I remember MSG was only like 25-30% GA Floor.

I'm not requesting this year and I'm letting my Warehouse membership lapse. Mostly because I'm just doing one show and it's a Tuesday in Charlotte... so I should be able to get a couple tickets easy peasy

Probably the best way to go other than the destination venues. Even those can usually be had if you are persistent.

I'm requesting tickets this year to avoid the 'Platinum' ticket prices.

Its only because theres a giant flat empty field behind seating areas. Can barely even see the stage from back there, they put a big video screen smack dab in the front middle of the lawn which blocks it.

I was talking to some friends in Chicago who are big Phish fans and they LOVE northerly. They love the big flat lawn to dance right by the lake.

I dont know of anyone who likes that venue. Every part of it is awful besides the fact that its downtown chicago.

It gets way more hate than it should and I think a lot of that is because it’s NOT alpine.

If you’re not doing lawn, the venue is totally fine.

It’s in a beautiful part of the city.

Huge pit (but easy to get tickets and get a group of friends in... not crowded, room in the back)

    Nice concessions

Easy bathroom lines (close to the seats and pit, short lines, clean)

    Short beer lines

While it’s a hike you can feasibly walk out of the venue and back to Michigan Avenue to catch an Uber or transit easily. (It’s about a mile walk... probably comparable to walking from the Gorge back to standard camping?)

I had to walk back to my hotel by the bean both nights I went because I couldnt get an uber. Short beer lines and the bathroom trailer were nice, but the raised stage is kind of awkward, PITA to get inside, sound isnt good, the stacked seating scaffolding thing makes the lawn feel totally blocked off from the seated area, angle of the stage kind of blocks the entire view of the city. Just not my type of venue, place kind of felt slapped together.

Maybe theyve made some improvments since 14 but no way id ever go back there for anyone.

When I went in 17 for D&T it was better, but the stage is high and does block the city view.

I was bummed the Northerly stage blocked my view of the skyline. Walking to/from the venue from a hotel on Michigan Ave was easy. Don't remember any issues getting in, we even brought our own sealed water bottle. 2017 had an intense heat wave and I had no stomach for beer in that heat, so can't speak to the beer lines. Only used the piss trailer once and don't remember any issues there. Seats were off-center in row 4 or 5 of 203, had a great view. My shorter wife didn't complain about the view, mainly the group of guys in front of us who moved their seats to make their row wider and our's narrower so they could dance.

I know there's been lots of talk about PJ and their new ticketing policy, but i just experienced it first hand, and it's awesome.

whole arena has the same priced tickets (like garth brooks does), and then there's this:

"To give fans the best chance to buy tickets at face value, the artist has requested tickets to this event be mobile only and non-transferable. If you purchase a ticket and can’t attend, you can list your ticket for sale at the price you paid on our Fan-to-Fan Face Value Ticket Exchange. There will be no additional fees charged to Exchange users for buying or selling tickets on the Exchange."

Its not that difficult! PJ cares about these things, DMB does not.

What amazed me was how they were able to strong arm TM into setting up a fan to fan resale without allowing them to double dip on fees.

Guster did this for their FIRST sold out shows for On the Ocean. I bought tickets year one right when they went on sale and the only way to sell them was through the dedicated fan to fan exchange/no fees. Listed my tickets and sold them instantly to a fan.

I did not have any physical tickets to sell any other way and they didn't allow transfers.

Last year they did physical tickets though

In keeping with Pearl Jam content, they also didn't do Platinum tickets, which is a nice change of pace too.

But I also visited Stub Hub to see what DMB in Denver was selling at (since they have to be transferable by Colorado state law) and there are lowers (no GA) that have sold for over 1000 a ticket - not just listed. So there is obviously people with disposable income who just love to throw it at the band they love, regardless of cost. (see why the DMB OK shows will sell out anyway).

What are you talking about? Denver is not part of this year's tour.
