UTTAD Purple Disc

There’s probably a thread on here already about this but I couldn’t locate anything. Anyone happen to know how rare this disc is?

I remember my friend had it back in the day but I figured at the time that it must have been a 2nd run but seems based on what the guy selling it on eBay is saying...it seems it’s actually an earlier copy. Anyone have the full story about the purple disc?

Isn't that supposed to have a clear tray because the inside back cover shows Dave holding his late sister's child?

not rare enough to spend ~$500 I don't think. My friend's sister had one back in the day.

I think the initial run was black, then the next run was purple, then all others since have been black (including the reissue). It's somewhat rare, but it's not very rare. If you keep an eye out at your local used CD store, you can probably find one for $5. (Also, like someone pointed out above, the jewel case should be clear, not black. It's not that this is fake or anything, it's just that someone replaced the original jewel case at some point.)

I assumed this was the only way they were. I have like two of these I bought around 1998. I’ve never seen the black version. Funny.

Can’t blame the guy for trying to get $500 for it! Someone might buy it!

Now how much is the mis-pressed Vinyl UTTAD worth now? The one they had to send the replacement disc for...
