As an electric guitarist I think Tim is ok (I’m not a guitarist) he seems to always pull out the same tricks but as an acoustic player I think he’s absolutely phenomenal.

Damn right, he has gotten way better / less obnoxious now that he isn't splitting time doubling everything Dave is doing and drowning him out while also covering for Boyd but DMB will always be best with no electric guitar IMO

His acoustic playing is so much more pleasing to my ear. I think 80% of it is his tone choice.

Props to Carter for being pumped after each song even though its typically repeats

Most DMB shows from 2009-2016 there are multiple points where Tim's crunchy tone ruins everything for me, doesn't happen anymore, I just still prefer no electric. I am a guitar player, have never really been big on electric guitar aside from a few exceptions.

Tim's parts in GIG are pretty great, I miss the violin on it but this is a song where it's covered well by another instrument (Buddy too) as opposed to other songs (looking at you Everyday, Nancies, Billies).

I mean, what is Jeff's function in this band anymore? Are we just going to give all the solos to Tim, Buddy, and Rashawn?

Jeff does a lot, this isn't a Jeff-centric show obviously but last year he sounded great and wasn't as absent as he was in this show.

Sounding incredible in limited doses is probably part of his LinkedIn profile

Nancies-GIG-SoL would be way better than throwing Sledgehammer into it

Rapunzel doesn't hit the same without the falsettos. Same with SoL. He can't seem to reach it. His voice is unfortunately strained a lot of the time it seems.

The irony that Dave stumbled over a lyric in a song that has the lyrics "I stumble fall in" is absolutely hilarious. I can relate hella hard to that feeling Dave had though. Been there a few times during live shows where I've lost place during a song and will have that exact same looking around at my bandmates reaction.

Worst feeling ever , last gig I had pre-Covid it wasn't a lyric flub but I spaced out for a second playing Zeppelin's Thank You and went from "kind woman I give you my all, kind woman nothing more" straight into the intro on the D chord instead of gong into the chorus while playing alone.

i'm not talking about changes musically in the song or his voice going in or out. he just becomes lazy and sings things off tempo and that affects how he chooses to sing them/his delivery.

even in this cornbread right now...he actually speaks certain words, then sings some or this or cause it looks good on you in the 2nd verse, then he just starts loudly speaking it. it's lazy

Was it just me or did it sound like Carter played the beginning drum lick of Grey Street at the beginning of Cornbread?

Wonder if there’s a chance he was looking at the setlist and saw Grey St and just started playing it again by accident but quickly corrected himself.

even in this cornbread right now...he actually speaks certain words, then sings some or this or cause it looks good on you in the 2nd verse, then he just starts loudly speaking it. it's lazy

I thought you were referring to the changes to the ending of SoL and choruses on Rapunzel that he has made the last several year, each is sung differently and I like the changes. Dave gets lazy at times vocally for sure, there is a place for talk singing though.
