I totally forgot about this game. I think it's stupid that they play the championship game over two weeks later. Not a good way to build hype for the game.

Agreed. Has it been this way for a few years? I feel like the NC is later than ever this year, and that's not a good thing.

It's later this year. Usually it's more like 9 days between, this one was like 16.

the 2014 season had an 11 day break between semis and finals.

2015 - 11 days

2016 - 9 days

2017 - 7 days

2018 - 9 days

this year - 16 days

I am not sure why they couldn't have played it on the 6th, but I'm sure there's some kind of reasoning behind it

Just looked it up - it’s a scheduling quirk due to the fact that they changed the semifinals from NYE to the Saturday before to improve those ratings. When they made that move there were apparently venues that weren’t available to subsequently move the title game up a week (not the dome but other venues needed for lead-up events) so they just kept it at the 13th.

I like LSU by 3. Would be very surprised by a blowout in either direction.

lsu by a little would be ideal for me. clemson +12.5 is the backend of a still-live parlay from the weekend, and I tried to middle it with LSU moneyline today. Can't get truly hurt in any scenario but LSU in a blowout is worst case for me.

I want LSU to win and my heart feels like they should (team of destiny and all that) but then I keep going back to last year's title game and how unexpectedly lopsided that was.

I wouldn't be surprised to see LSU just on fire right from the start with Clemson just not able to keep up and LSU going on to win by 14 or more.

It’s easy to get lost in the week to week shuffle but Clemson’s D has been absurd for about five years straight
