Re: Help out the troops around the world

I have a favor to ask of the fellow Facebook-using fans of the Dave Matthews Band. I know it's off topic; I apologize in advance and am only asking once. For the past 13 years I have been serving in the US Military & just got back from my 2nd yr-long tour in Iraq, already with the knowledge of a scheduled rotation to Afghanistan in the future too. Naturally, time with my wife and daughter is extremely precious. After my first Iraq trip we saw DMB (with Leroi) in Dublin on our wedding anniversary, not even knowing my wife was pregnant with our daughter. (her first show!) My daughter was born 14 weeks early, weighing 1lb 10oz. Thankfully someone was looking out for us, she has grown to an amazing 22 month old miracle. Here's the thing. We are trying to win a photo contest on Facebook. The 3 people with the most votes get a Taga, which my wife and I hope to use outside with our daughter as often as possible. (type it into the search box on facebook for more info if curious) It doesn't cost anything to vote. The contest ends 5pm EST on August 20th, so there's only about a day left. If you are kind enough and willing to vote, in facebook search my name; Tom Beaulieu. (the 1st one that comes up) There is a link on my facebook page as my status message. You do have to become a fan, and *then* vote, but once you vote you can remove the fan bit. If not, then thank you for reading and being patient with me.

    Hey,

I just saw your post. I would love to have a copy of something from this year seeing as I will be unable to attend any shows.

    My address is

    Roy Bayne

    8EAMS/MXA

    APO AE 09309

I can paypal you whatever it ends up costing to send it, but I would love to hear some new stuff. The setlists are looking getting great. 14 Jul 2010 Stone in to Watchtower would be awesome, but I am not going to be picky. I’m really hoping they release some later South America dates so I can try to make it to one of those. Maybe!

    Cheers!

I know, from our previous involvement with the 101st Airborne that putting together a boxing event in the middle of the desert, in the middle of summer, and in the middle of continuing conflict, is an arduous job to say the least. Congratulations on tackling the job! Your reward will be priceless. You will see it in the smiles, laughter and enjoyment of your fellow soldiers, who deserve any and every type of morale boosting event that can be provided for them.

Not sure if this is still an active thread or not, but there is a pretty easy way to send concerts (as mp3) to anyone, anywhere. I use a site called cutesendit.com (No, I'm not affiliated. Yes, there are other sites like it)that allows you to upload files in bluk, then email ONE person a link to those files, and allow them 3 days to download the files before they are automatically deleted.

I'd be willing to do this for any armed forces interested in shows.

Currently, I have the following ready to go:

    Giants Stadium, July 13, 2000
    Giants Stadium, June 11, 2001
Bryce Jordan Center (Penn State), April 5, 2002
Continental Airlines Arena (NJ), August 24, 2003
    MSG, December 17, 2003 (Dave & Friends)
    MSG, December 10, 2005
    Vegas, March 23, 2007
    Vegas, March 24, 2007
    Camden (NJ), September 19, 2009
    Camden (NJ), September 20, 2009
    Camden (NJ), June 30, 2010
    Camden (NJ), July 1, 2010
Hershey, July 9, 2010 (I also have Zac Brown Bands set as the opener from this show)
    Citi Field, July 16, 2010
    Citi Field, July 17, 2010
    Wrigley Field, September 17, 2010
    Nassau Coliseum, November 3, 2010
    MSG, November 13, 2010

Just send me an inbox and I'll see what I can do for ya

That's awesome. Glad to hear it. Are you stationed at Buckley or one of the bases in the Springs?

If anyone is still willing to do this, I'd like to see if I could get the D&T shows from thsi year and C'ville N1. If anyone can hook me up, it'd be appreciated.

Which D&T shows? All? or just from the small mini tour a few days ago? I've got the c'ville n1 (want n2 too?) burnt, just tell me which D&T and it's done. Anything for somebody at mildenhall. Been there before, nice base.

I live in Mildenhall, but I'm stationed at Lakenheath (in Afghanistan now). hope that doesn't sway your willingness

not at all, i've been there too. Don't remember as much as I do mildenhall, but i don't remember it being bad. Not to mention as long as you're in the military I'd do anything for ya. Military members mean a lot to me, so thanks. You just want the first night from vegas? Burning tonight, should be in the mail within a few days.

I have a large # of shows (in cases, cover art included) that I want to get rid of, have them all replaced on a hard drive in FLAC/SHN format. If someone could shoot me a PM, I can get some flat rate boxes and send a mixture of what I have.
