Hybrids and 2 putts are boring. Won’t apologize for it.

Total mark. Nest member. Trying to convince my wife to go to Bandon with me for our 40th birthday by playing Tourist Sauce: Oregon all the time.

Big Randy and I have some common friends.

Took next weekend off to burn my vacation time. It's supposed to be between 55-65 all week and sunny which is a nice surprise this time of year. Hopefully get 3 or 4 rounds in.

Looks like the weather may cooperate and I can get both rounds in this week. May ever do two next week.

Gonna play nine Sunday morning with my brother, who I haven't golfed with since Father's Day.

He's so much more athletic than me, it's sickening. I'm a better golfer, but he could easily be better than me if he took it seriously for a year. I'll enjoy it for the time being, but I know whenever he catches the bug, he will outpace me very quickly.

    Didn’t you play college football?

We play with an ex NFL receiver who plays all the time, and I never feel like he has that much of an advantage over me and the D3 and NAIA athletes in our group.

My brother who has some D1 offers for baseball and soccer sucks.

I did. My brother is an insane athlete. I was a pretty good athlete and a pretty good football player. My brother is awesome at basically everything athletic that he does. He was a college baseball player, all-state in baseball during HS.

Nothing new, but raw athleticism doesn't necessarily translate to golf, especially those who went far in their careers. Most of those people don't pick up golf until they're done playing.

Gonna have to disagree Mitch, most athlete types (especially baseball played like my brother) have excellent hand-eye coordination which is a critical part of the golf swing. If he only played golf his whole life, I'm confident he would be a scratch golfer. He isn't great because he never plays and has 25 years of baseball swings engrained in his brain

I’m sure there are exceptions, but pitchers and good free throw shooters seems to make the best golfers. Repeatable motions.

Also, hitting balls as a kid helps. I was taking lessons when I was 7. Took 31 years to figure things out, but there is something to banging balls as a kid that stops you from looking like Barkley as an adult.

Hockey players are typically good golfers as well.

Heading out this afternoon. Probably going to freeze my butt off. But golf, right?

Yeah, my best friend who I play with all the time was a hockey/lax player, and he's got some game. Usually low 80's on a pretty consistent basis.

We snagged the first tee time (7:50) for next Friday. First time having the first time in over a year. Can't wait to play 18 in like 3 hours on a Friday morning. I'll be home and logged on by like 11:30!

Did you check the price? I thought their putters were marked way down like everything else.

Got nine in this morning, was +6 with a birdie on the first hole, and pars on the final three.

My brother (who never plays) had two birdies (both on par 3’s), and still managed to post a +13 because of a few blow up holes. If he ever cared to play more and get good, he could probably be scratch within a few years. Such an effortlessly smooth swing and great pace, I’m so envious that it comes so naturally to him

Weather sucked all weekend. Cold and rain on the front nine on Friday, but cleared up nicely for the back. Did not play well and struggled to a 94. Yesterday was a wash out. I'm off tomorrow, so may try to get one in.

As much as I love this time of year, golf is definitely a little tougher. It's been raining like hell here the past 10 days, too, so even yesterday after a full day of sun the day prior, it was still wet as hell. So many fat/chunky lies.

Going back through my round, I could have shaved 3 strokes off by making putts within 5 feet. One I missed for birdie by like, 1 millimeter Game can be so damn frustrating, but I hit the ball pretty straight/solidly the whole time and seemed to execute well with my focus of not trying to murder the ball.

Agreed, it is tougher this time of year. My short game was just terrible Friday. I can't tell you how many short shots/chips I just threw away. I probably could have saved literally 6-8 shots. So unbelievably frustrating.
