Yeah It's pretty clear he doesn't like playing and singing it. I wouldn't say he hates it, he named an album after it and they brought it back as soon as Tim was a full member to play the guitar parts. But he for sure does not want to play and sing it. My question is since Tim can play the guitar parts, why not bust it out more often? Especially with Buddy on keys.

Listening to Tears for Fears this morning and I’m reminded of what a great album is. It reminds me of BTCS. You can listen to a song 5 times in a row and hear different things each time. Sad to say that the majority of DMb albums don’t have depth. BTCS is the exception - especially Dreaming Tree.

Listening to Live Trax 7 in the car yesterday. It's funny how the last 15-20 year have trained me to think when I hear Two Step, Billies, or LIOG that it's the set closer. In 1996/1997 those were just the songs for any point in the show. I wish I could go back to one of those shows.

Act II from the Dear Hunter is a great album. If you like that I would recommend going back to Act I and getting into the full story.

The Orange EP is also a good listen.

Where has it been in the 10 years since that tour where it was played six whole times? Dave hates the song, plain and simple. Which is a shame, those 2000 versions where Roi takes over at the end are just beautiful.

Good advice here. I think Act IV is probably the most accessible of The Acts, but I got into them when II was first released. V is actually my favorite and the most recent.

Most of The Dear Hunter's catalog comes from Act I-V (a full story across five albums) but the Color Spectrum is also a big part of it. It is 9 4-track eps; one for each color and all very different from each other.

They also have a couple albums that aren't a part of any larger work. Migrant is easily my favorite of those.

For Between the Buried and Me I would recommend starting with Colors. This is where they really come into their own. The previous album, Alaska, shows glimpses of where they were going, but Colors is a huge jump forward and possibly still their best album. After Colors I'd check out The Great Misdirect, The Parallax II, and The Coma Machine.

There are also live versions of Colors, Parallax II and Coma Machine which are a great showcase of how great these guys really are. Parallax II is "live in studio" but the other two are actual live shows where they played through the albums
