If you zoom in on the photo of the back of the album it says music on vinyl. I took a screen shot just to make sure. Dobys idea seems more reliable. I love this pressing, one of my favorites at the moment

My copy of 'The Great Reunion' - Louis Armstrong & Duke Ellington from the Classic Records Clarity SV-P II 45rpm Series finally arrived. It sounds beautiful. I wish I had the cash to shell out for the rest of these

Stopped by my record shop today, feel like I haven't been in forever. Picked up the reissues of Tom Petty ~ Full Moon Fever and the Replacements ~ Pleased to Meet Me. Also, picked up a pack of MoFi record sleeves.

The Petty reissues are really spectacular. All analog done by Chris Bellman (except for Mojo and Hypnotic Eye, which were recorded digitally and done from the 24/48 hi res masters, and She's The One which for whatever reason was done from a 24/96 copy of the original analog masters.) I've got the Vol 2 (94-14) box set + Full Moon and Great Wide Open so far and every one is just amazing. Wildflowers is a complete revelation.

Has there been any word on them releasing those remasters individually. I need Wildflowers badly

Yah I definitely need to pick up Full Moon Fever and Into the Great Wide Open now that those are available individually. FMF is $19 on Amazon and ITGWO is $23.

Wildflowers hasn't been done yet individually but I'm sure it's coming, same for Southern Accents...those are the four records I want.

The US individual titles were all pressed at QRP, where was the US box set pressed at?

I believe the box set versions were also pressed at QRP - I think they're identical to the standalone releases.

I knew about Wildflowers, but I didn't realize that Southern Accents was also not available individually now, that's odd. With Wildflowers I almost wonder if they are planning some type of 25th anniversary release for it in the upcoming year or two? Tom Petty has talked about how it was originally intended to be a double album and there's basically an entire album worth of material that was never released, and how he wanted to put it all out there.

Re: **The Official Vinyl Collectors Thread**

Here's the full mastering info on the Petty releases, for anyone interested:

"Mastered by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering from the analog master tapes, with the exception of:

Mojo and Hypnotic Eye were mastered from the original high resolution 24 bit 48K digital masters (these were originally recorded digitally and sound so IMO).
She's The One and Greatest Hits were mastered from high resolution (24 bit 96K) digital copies of the original analog masters.
And here's some really good news: While the original releases of Wildflowers, Echo and Last DJ were mastered for vinyl from digital sources, for the 2016 box set release, they assembled the original analog masters for the first time, and mastered vinyl from that. According to Bellman, "the sound quality is especially better on these albums."

And there you have it! Keep in mind that many recordings produced analog are not mastered analog because of the time and expense involved in assembling cutting reels, which is probably why those three were cut from digital sources."

Jimi Hendrix - Are You Experienced
    200 Gram Audiophile LP Pressing
All Analog Mastering From The Original 2-Track Master Tapes By Bernie Grundman
    Complete Original Artwork
    Manufactured By Quality Record Pressing

And if anyone likes Rush, Soundstage Direct has some great sales on a bunch of their studio and live albums under the 'LP Outlet' tab in the upper right hand corner of their homepage. I bought Rush's live album 'Exit...Stage Left' from the Moving Pictures tour on 200 gram vinyl remastered at Abbey Road Studios using the Direct to Metal Mastering (DMM) audiophile copper plating process, all from original analogue masters. All their albums were given this treatment.

There are so many out there it is confusing. That is not the same one as the Popmarket listing because the Amazon listing is by Sony Legacy and Popmarket is by Quality Record Pressing (QRP). I hope this helps!

I also thought it important to point out that the Popmarket listing is a Stereo reissue, which sounds better than the Mono pressing.

Sony Legacy is the label, and QRP is the pressing plant

Nice! Always count on Discogs to bring the goods. Horribly awesome how both popmarket and amazon fill in the respective info that the other doesn't have...notoriously vague.

Amazon used to have decent information on which version it was until recently. I've messaged their customer care a few times to complain. It makes it much more difficult to make a vinyl purchase

A side note on this - it isn't exactly clear, but there's been some indication that this will restore the original samples found on the first release (all subsequent reissues have been without them due to legal issues) and with the original uncensored lyrics. It also has the original artwork

Thanks, way to be on top of the problem. It is confusing. With Amazon having some of the most competitive prices, I hope they fix this, since their packaging has also improved. A lot of us would order from them also because of the shipping prices or lack thereof

Actually I take that back, there is a 2017 listing for Southern Accents on Discogs with the same etching but doesn't say "CB", perhaps whomever filled it out just forgot to add that part - https://www.discogs.com/Tom-Petty-An...lease/10446738

    No Wildflowers yet tho.

Tom's engineer Ryan Ulyate was with Chris Bellman to do all of these, he's a big stickler for dynamics in music and is responsible for the excellent 5.1 mix of Damn the Torpedoes on Blu-ray. Good dude.

Yeah the CD and vinyl presales went up a couple days ago...pretty disappointing that this is a concert film.

As Alex mentioned in the Pearl Jam thread, hopefully once the film has done the rounds at the cinema we'll get a super deluxe Blu-ray set which includes the concert film on one Blu-ray then each night in its entirety on two separate Blu-rays. How embarrassing that lu-ray has been out over 11 years and neither Pearl Jam nor DMB has a full band high definition Blu-ray release on the market yet.

Yeah, I don't plan to order this.

In general, I've learned to hold off on all Pearl Jam vinyl. They seem to care more about the idea of vinyl than the actual execution of that idea.

I have the reissues/remasters of Ten, Yield, and No Code and while they aren't horrible; they certainly aren't top notch and leave a lot to be desired

By the way Doby, don't know if rap is your forte of if you'd know much on it, but do you have any thoughts on the VMP reissue of Ready to Die? Any idea what the original source is (tape/digital) or how likely/hard it would be for them to have gotten the green light to use the original samples?

I'm sure that the film will be really cool, but for a band that is as completist as Pearl Jam is, it would seem odd to not release the full versions of one of the biggest/most important 2-night stands of their career.

Clearly they were both filmed in high definition. I am guessing the concert film will be the standard 2-2.5 hours in length, and plenty of that will be interviews/other footage/etc, so we're probably looking at getting what, 90 minutes out of 6+ hours worth of performance over 2 shows?

I was at both of those shows and I'm also a massive Cubs fan so, of course I'm biased here but, I really want both of those show in their entirety.

Not much at all, my love affair with rap is pretty much early 80s stuff when I was breakdancing in middle school - like Newcleus, UTFO, Whodini, Arthur Baker, etc.

I'd shoot them an e-mail and ask, have you ever for previous titles?

    all good stuff!

I did reach out. They gave a vague "this is the definitive version" response. In the past they've been more forthcoming I had reached out regarding Fiona Apple's Tidal and they let me know that they were (unfortunately) cut digital rather than analog despite the tapes being out for the mastering process...thanks Ted Jensen They still sound pretty good though
