One of my favorite shows I've ever attended! Took my then 3 year old soon for his first DMB show. If this got released I'd buy the biggest bundle within minutes of it being available.

The only problem with this show is no Bismarck.

Downloaded this show back in 2016. The set is pretty good for that year, and the Jimmy performances are good, just not a fan of the 2016 sound. The 2016 live trax we already have is pretty bad performance wise and not just because of Dave’s voice that show. It’s more that the music just has zero room to breath. That’s why I actually prefer the 2018+ DMB over a year like 2016 even though they had a violin in 2016. Live trax 46> Live trax 44 easy even though 44 has the better set.

New Hampshire 2016 would be a nice choice at some point. But yeah, again, anyone following the trend of the Live Trax series can guess that lt54 will be summer 2019. Nothing groundbreaking here.

Agreed about Bismarck, but I'd still buy it. We'll get Bismarck eventually.... Cool story about the kiddo! An official release would be a really cool memory for you two to share. I took my best friend and his husband to it for their first DMB experience, and it blew em away. They were casual fans, andI don't think you could get a much better set list than that for a DMB primer.

That is awesome. Sharing DMB in a live setting with someone who hasn't seen them is really cool. My son has been to 6 DMB/D&T shows now and we had plans for 3 more with this year. The poster from that show hangs in his bedroom. We listen to the tape and the tapes of his other shows often. He likes that he was there when listening to a version of a song.

I'd expect the announcement to come first week of November. Dave's playing a bunch of VOTE shows, so all their promotion is focused on that right now. After the election would be the most logical time to announce LT54 for a mid-December release.

I dont think anyone thinks 2019 isn't likely. Its that we just don't want it. Ill be a 2019 show if I was there. If I wasn't there I won't buy it. I have enough quality recordings of that year.

Knowing the bands management is who they are since they skipped 2019 last Christmas it’s a given that since they skipped it last year it will be the thing this year (or fall 2018 if not 2019)

Both Des Moines (Wells Fargo Arena 5.14.2019) and San Francisco (Chase Center 9.10.2019) are shows, over 2 1/2 hours; both have been broadcasted, and you can already listen them in a good quality.

If I had to pick one, indeed, I’d choose an international show, like São Paulo 9.17.2019, because I like that crowd and they had a guest (Gabriel Grossi in this one). Also, it is more difficult go get good taping of those shows. Sometimes, when they go to Brazil, they play great shows (see LT19, for example).

If they release this show I won’t complain at all.
Satellite and Sugar Will with Jimmy Herring are already in my list of “How I wish they would release a decent recording of this, one day”.

Of course, number one of this list is #41 with John Mayer (Hollywood Bowl 2007).

I think that, at this point, with 108 official releases (more or less), a show to be LiveTraxed should have something special in it.

They are identical id imagine. Why would people spend $13-15 on a show that already has a soundboard from the band? Especially from a year where there is so much soundboard out there.

If they go 18 or 19 it needs to be something unreleased and unique.

Just one note though: if you listen carefully to SiriusXM “high quality” recording, they are not as good as the Live Trax recording.

The gap in quality is often relevant if you listen with a decent headset.

I guess it might depend on the fact that most of broadcast were performed live, while the LT CD have a long post processing that cleans the sound, makes it more spatial, refine the mix, etc...

If you consider that, it might make sense to release something that was already broadcasted.

I think a Sirius show would be more reasonable than a YouTube show. As you said, the quality isn't the best on Sirius, plus holiday releases usually get a DVD/Blu-Ray. That isn't really a selling point when the same video is available for free on YouTube.

Great points. And this is why the Sirius rebroadcasts sometimes are better quality or different quality than the original broadcast. Look at West Palm 2019, which was aired 2-3 different times and the quality seems to be different on at least two of them. One of them, Dave's guitar is way down in the mix.

The ones that were on Sirius that are being webcasted for DMB Drive In seem to have a better mix as well. Lots of tweaking with stuff.

I'm not arguing that the Sirius or YouTube rips are the same quality but they are close enough to not spend $15 on a show. Ill buy an 18 or 19 show if its unreleased, I was there, or if its unique enough or comes with other cool bonuses.

There are very few options that fit that criteria.
