What venue has the worst crowd?

Northerly Island in Chicago seemed to have inordinately disinterested crowds compared to shows at any other venue I've been to, particularly in 2018.

Gilford is one of my favorite venues. I don't wait until the band is almost on stage to go in to the venue so thats probably why lol

Will never forget N1 last year at Northerly Island. About 90% of the people in the section directly behind PIT, center too, were sitting. Worst DMB show I've ever seen in terms of the band and crowd.

Yea, this. Almost as bad as United Center 2012. We didn’t even go to N2 at Northerly Island since N1 was so bad. Was a good decision because N2 looked about as bland as it could get.

Gilford is great... aside from what TS#'s pointed out. What a shitshow getting in. Seems to be only DMB shows that are this way. I've been to a bunch of other shows there and breezed right in.

On the other side of things, Very cool to see St Augustine on that list. It’s my absolute favorite concert venue. I’m going to the Gorge this year finally so that may change but damn that place is great. For a 4000 capacity venue that’s incredibly impressive. To be so small it gets a lot of major acts. I’ve seen Panic, Avett Brothers, Alabama Shakes, Dispatch, Leon Bridges, Trey Anastasia Band (last night) and have Maggie Rogers tickets for later this year. I live here now but if you ever want to travel to an awesome venue I’d highly recommend.

To contribute to the thread though, Bristow is hands down the worst I’ve been to. Drunk, sloppy people and I unfortunately have had lawn every time I’ve been so that didn’t help.

WPB lowers crowd annoys me too. It’s all rich people who know 3 songs and bitch at you for standing up and dancing, singing etc. A few years ago (I believe in ‘16) they opened with Squirm N2. We had phenomenal seats a few rows behind the pit, saw the little red guitar on stage and my brother and I both said Squirm opener or something like that. The dude next to me said “what the fuck is squirm” I informed him what it was. He said “oh you know the lineup bro” & proceeded to get wasted and ask me after every song what they were going to play next. Finally told him how I knew etc and he continued to ask regardless. He said “bro I only know like 2 songs but I paid $600 to see “the legend” up close” idk why but I still think about that. Annoyed the fuck out of me all night. Had a similar experience last year.

Being inside at SPAC is always amazing but the lawn there is truly an awful experience.

Only know a few venues but:

Blossom > DTE > Riverbend

Never had a problem at any of them, but DTE is a nicer amphitheater than Riverbend, and Blossom is a legitimately beautiful place to spend an evening. I’ve had lawn and pavilion all three places and the crowd is always great.

Northerly Island is definitely up there...even as a die hard it can be hard to pay attention when you’re with old college buddies on that “lawn”

Blossom was surprisingly a let down in 2018 regarding the crowd. But to be fair it was a Saturday while the Cavs were in the finals.

The only redeeming quality of Northerly Island is being able to see the skyline.

Walking into the venue stinks.
The crowd stinks.
The sound stinks.
The sightline to the stage stinks (unless you're in the upper reserved sections on the side).
