I don't buy the posters, but from people that I know that do, prefer the current poster selling method. With the posters having become more of a collectible item over the years, the merchandisers heard the whines, er crying, er suggestions from the people that buy posters to sell them prior to the show. That way the people who bought posters now have the opportunity to put the posters in a safe place during the show and not fear them getting damaged while having to care for them during the show.
Yes it is a $40 poster. But as we all can plainly see, on eBay, they are worth more then that to some people. I think having the memory of the show, to go along with the poster from said show, is worth more then any eBay auction.
