It depends. This concert is going to lock chucktown up. The Charleston Mariott is literaly across the street but it is a little high end (depending on your budget). Remember it is the 4th and it is a weekend, which is a big deal in Charleston. Your gem is the Best Western Downtown, not the King Charles Best Western on Meeting St. But the Best Western on Spring St. Their rates are typically $89 for a room with 2 double beds and $99 for a king room. I just toured this new hotel and the rooms are real nice and they have plasma tvs!!! The rates that weekend will be appr. $109-$129 but it is within 200 yrds of the venue. Attraction wise I would say check out a plantation (Middleton Place, Magnolia, Drayton Hall or Boone Hall. They are awesome. Irving Vineyards (winery) is cool too but requires some driving.
