Anyone Good With Microsoft Excel Here?

Im using 2007 and trying to graph my data from a chem lab I did this week. I have a linear trend, so I added a linear trend line and the equation for it. However the equation is telling me the y intercept is 693.5 but when I look at the graph it is clearly crossing the y axis around 846. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas on what to do or why its wrong?

Thanks

Exactly. I just wanted to preserve some code that I just finished writing and when I searched "excel" for titles, this thread came up. Completely random.

Well, my only laptop/computer is a work computer so if I ever leave, I won't have access to that type stuff. This way, I can at least get to it with any device with internet access. I admit it's not a great system.

I hear you on the password thing. I keep meaning to setup a password manager, for security so I don't use the same password for everything, and so I don't have to remember a bunch of different passwords.

I don't want to pay for it though.

The thing that really bothers me is that a lot of places don't allow you to reuse the same password ever. I have like three passwords I cycle through. If I've used all three and I have to create a new one, I'm pretty much done with that website.

Is there a way to hide values in a column?

So I have a list of movies on the left, and their rating on the right. I don't want to see the ratings I've previously given when I'm entering in a new one. So can I have those values still be in Column B but just not be visible?

Im sure there's a better way than this, but thinking aloud:

    -hide the entire column
    or
-white text on a white background so it appears invisible

Hide column doesnt help because id have to unhide it to enter new values. I want to enter a value, hit enter, then have it disappear from view.

White text was considered and will probably work; just wasnt sure if there was an Excel trick.

Just use paper and use invisible ink.

    Right click on the cell, format cells, custom, then type ;;;

You can see the value in the formula bar, but not on the cell.

If you want the entire column hidden, highlight the column first and follow the steps above.

The background color on that column is now green for some reason, but I can live with that.

Changing the font to white should work.

If you don't want to see the vaules, no matter what, just change the formula in the cell that you don't want to use to an IF formula that produces a blank, not your actual result.

Vlookup is basically crack to me. And I still get dumbfounded (and a bit concerned) when I come across folks that live their life in excel and have never used that formula. The good thing about that though is that I look like a magician when I show it to them.

I use v-lookups far more often than pivot tables, so I'm going to go with vlookups.

I love showing people excel tricks and having them look at me like I just made the Statue of Liberty disappear.
