I guess it depends. If you are arriving early to tailgate, it is probably not. I tend to get there super early and get parked up front close so getting out isnt that big of a chore. If you are getting there closer to show time, it probably would be worth it.

Busted Stuff is on the very short list of mine of songs I haven't seen live.

    Re: *** Official Deer Creek 2019 ***

Any newly discovered tunes from the Batson sessions would be incredible and very refreshing to hear on tour this year. I think all of those tunes have potential and I would love to see them grow.

As far as other tunes go... I'm dying to get Help Myself this year. Since it was just played by Dave solo last month, Funny How Time Slips Away would be an absolute treat in an E1 slot. Other classic, long lost covers like Wynona, Angel From, Exodus, Hey Hey My My, or even Sugar Man or Slip Slidin' Away would be great to hear in place of the incredibly stale and predictable Sledgehammer, Time of The Season, Superstition, BDTH, or Sweet Emotion party band cover slots. I like those songs listed but they are incredibly unoriginal and stale to cover. They bring zero uniqueness to the table, IMO.

It's also time for a good mix of the songs listed below to be in regular rotation or at least get a few plays:

    Dreaming Tree
    Spoon
    Last Stop
    Cry Freedom
    GGT
    Virginia In The Rain
    BB&B
    Proudest Monkey
    Snow Outside
    Dodo
    Too High
    Up & Away
    IBYU
    Pay For
    Broken Things
    Crazy Easy
    etc

overall I was quite happy with the spread from 2018 - solid showings from LLD, LITHOG, Typical, Hello Again, Seek Up, Minarets, Captain, Raven, and then a bit of #27, Rhyme, Raven, DIDO, Stone, Two Step, JTR, Bartender, etc here and there. Plus the fall tour saw Say Bye return along with a revisited KTK, Break Free, etc.

Lots to be optimistic about as far as setlist variety and performances go. The fall tour was very tight and Buddy sounded much more locked in. They are in a sweet spot right now I think - can't wait til the European tour kicks up and we get a feel for what 2019 looks like.

Great thoughts Sean and I agree. For myself, I'm not putting expectations on Summer 2019 by what happens on the European tour. I sense that is going to cap off the Come Tomorrow promotion. I do think it'll freak people the fuck out here on this site and they'll continue to act like the end is near, people hate it, "where's muh fiddle?" and DMB isn't selling well and a lot of other false narratives they like to blow smoke on.

Will be fun to watch people lose their shit during March, that's for sure.

this is true. While seeing a show/tour kick off with You Never Know was quite the jolt of a surprise this past fall...I don't know if anything will top that whole production that happened to open Creek 2015 for me. That's gotta be an all-time show starter in the history of DMB.

But...it didn't happen in the New England area and was in the post-2000 era, so I'm not sure if it counts, or even happened for that matter.

Songs that regularly show up usually on tour that haven't seen love at the creek in a few trips

Minarets (last 2015), Best of What's Around (last 2015), Proudest Monkey (last 2014), Say Goodbye (last 2009), Grace is Gone (last 2006)

Plus no Don't Drink, Crush, Rapunzel, Corn Bread, Sister and Seven at Creek last summer. So those are locks.

That will be true, I agree. It will be sort of a capper of 2018 and CT mixed with potential for 2019 here and there. Plus we can expect London to get Sugar Will. Seems like a tradition there.

And of course, we'll get the simpleton "MUH FIDDULZ" opinions and other penniless thoughts from the DMBc echo chamber zombie crew, as expected.

I get wonderful reactions from people when I ask if they complain about there being no "muh fiddulz" at Dave & Tim shows. They say its not the same. But, honestly, aren't those two pulling off said songs without a "muh fiddulz"? Sure, expectations are different, but DMB set the expectation that there was going to be no "muh fiddulz" (that's not getting old) in 2018, yet people still complained there wasn't one.

One song that surprised me with no #muhfiddulz in 2018 was Dancing Nancies. Thought it'd be underwhelming without Boyd. But Tim really found a sweet spot with his solos and I was reminded "Oh yeah DUH" that's a D&T staple song he's comfortable with taking over and melting our faces. And kudos to Rashawn with really trying explore and experiment with his sound between the verses.

The muh fiddulez crew is hilarious to me. Boyd has been a wreck about 75% of the time since Roi's death. And in years before that, he was always the most inconsistent member with unlistenable shows in 1999 and 2003 most notably. Sure, when he was ON there was just about nothing better, but he was an absolute disaster and trainwreck in recent memory.

He wasn't serving the music well at all in recent years. Sure there were shows and performances here and there when he recaptured some magic. He was a fun stage presence, no doubt. All of the folks bitching for muh fiddelez seem to think that we lost 1995 Boyd instead of present day skreester Boyd.

Sure, I could use a violin addition to the lineup, but it's not 100% necessary. Some songs I miss the violin and they're not the same. But in the end, it's Dave's band and his songs - I love them with all sorts of instrumentation. In the grand scheme of things, Carter and Dave are the only irreplaceable members of DMB. IMO.

100% agree - huge highlight from 2018. Nancies was better than ever in recent memory last year. RR's additions were interesting and Tim's balls to the wall solos were better than any BT Nancies solo in 3.0

The last time I remember Boyd really flooring me in person was the SPAC 2012 weekend (Specifically, that LIOG is AMAZING). And for the most part, he was pretty damn good that whole tour. And I'll never forget at Deer Creek CARTER screwing up Pig and Boyd of all people keeping it together and bringing it back #SpacePig. He had switched back to the acoustic violin and recently worked with Lillywhite. Though, after their August tour break that summer, thats when they started muting him (Or it became much more blatant).

2013-2014 he was pretty terrible. 2015-2016 he was all right, but still unreliable.

hey creekers! good luck to everyone participating in the public sale today. I am looking for WH lawn tickets for both nights. So, if you end up getting what you want today and have lawns to unload, I will gladly take them. would rather take them off someone's hands here than give TM/LN any money

    Thanks!!!

Just happened to jump in here to see what was going on for DC. I was just thinking about starting a post as to when ppl can remember their last "good" performance with Boyd. 2012 Alpine was an epic solo of LIOG of over 5 minutes and he never missed a beat. I would say in St Louis, 2016 he was on fire that night and they really showcased him in the songs too. Even though he dropped his bow durning TB during the encore he kept jamming. Things really took a turn for the worse after that and some of it is hard to listen to. I think the band sounds way better w/o him now days but i do miss the violin.

I would say in St Louis, 2016 he was on fire that night and they really showcased him in the songs too. Even though he dropped his bow durning TB during the encore he kept jamming. So weird. I remember him sounding really good in early on in 15 (LIOG Bristow) and then by the west coast I think he was starting to slip again.
