I can’t wait for all of these. With how great WandaVision has been, I can’t contain my excitement for F&tWS and Loki (and, I’m honestly stoked to get another Marvel cartoon series via What If?)

Loki is gonna be so fun. Same with F&tWS. Already love WandaVision. Disney+ specials are just on absolute fire right now.

It’s so smart that they are using the tv shows to string this all together and not waiting years for the movies to do it

Way less excited about Loki than the others. I like Hiddleston fine, but I feel like Loki has been threaded through a LOT of the MCU and has had more than his moment.

Can't wait for Cap & Falcon, though. Falcon is one of my favorite parts of the MCU. Mackie makes every scene he's in better. Daniel Brühl's Zemo is also one of the best villain performances I've seen in a Marvel movie, and I can't wait to see where this show goes.

Also love Wandavision and can't wait for the animated What If...? I grew up a DC kid, but Marvel is giving me everything I've ever wanted in superhero media.

If only the netflix shows were like this. Wasted opportunity with some great programing and crossovers.

I just think they're doing her dirty. Feige doubled down on getting women-led superhero movies made, and I wouldn't be surprised if something is holding Black Widow back that's more than just the pandemic (like you said, D+ is an option that they've already done.)

Agreed. The blip has the whole world in chaos. The TV shows can tell the smaller stories stemming from the shit that's going down until we get the movies with the big fallout. The next wave of movies is going to be so monumental in comic book storytelling on the big screen. I'm so genuinely excited.

I think that was more of a victim of circumstance than a blown opportunity. Total control of their property makes including the small screen in the big screen a lot easier and more significant than just a name drop every few episodes.

I despise it. You don't give someone who doesn't understand those characters complete control over how they're represented in film.

It's just not at all what I've loved about those characters my whole life. Those movies aren't for me. And I guess that's fine. I still have All-Star Superman, Geoff Johns' JSA, Morrison's Justice League, Giffen & DeMatteis' Justice League International books, New Frontier, and all the rest. That's my DC.

Marvel is giving me what I'd prefer from DC, and I love it.

Sorry, I think I might have misunderstood. I thought you were talking about Snyder's take, and that was I was responding to.

Post-Snyder, we don't really have a lot to go on. Shazam was funny and enjoyable for the most part. The first Wonder Woman was great, the second not so much but still okay while I was watching it.

I really just think Snyder botched things so badly that it's going to take a long time to right the ship.

I mean it’s a “prequel”, unless they jam something in with a post credit scene.

Chris Ryan from The Watch podcast had an awesome monologue on their most recent podcast about watching WandaVision that perfectly sums up my thoughts on the MCU (starts at the 44:20 minute mark, definitely worth checking out):

    https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR...EegQIBRAF&ep=6

he basically talks about consuming MCU content isn't really about the stories themselves, it's how everything connects to each other. IMO, it's become such an exhausting storytelling mechanism (*cough* star wars *cough*), and it's one of the reasons why I've never been able to emotionally connect with the characters and their stories in the MCU.

Rewatched Age of Ultron last night and wow, that movie has probably moved up my rankings more than any other in the series. It literally is the catalyst for so much in films to come. Including Tony pointing up (referring to the wormhole that allows the attack on NY) and sayings “that’s the endgame” - a lot of foreshadowing.

Yeah, agreed. It gets a bad rap, but there's a lot to love about that movie (James Spader, the Mjolnir party scene, Wanda and her brother, Klaw (or however they spell it in the MCU), that opening battle sequence, most of the Ultron battle). It's not nearly as bad as its reputation.

Thor: The Dark World, on the other hand...

I rewatched it about two weeks ago and was blown away by how much it set up. That Tony line caught me too. I've always loved Ultron a little more than most but I have so much more appreciation for it now. It was the turning point for the MCU.

always liked Age of Ultron. It could have been two movies. that's my only criticism. there's so much happening in that movie.

Wife and I are in the midst of a mini rewatch leading up to the end of WandaVision and start of Falcon & the Winter Soldier.

Watched Avengers, Captain America: Winter Soldier, and Age of Ultron this weekend. Plan to watch Civil War, Infinity War, and End Game, and then a full rewatch of WandaVision once the finale is out (though we will watch the last 2 episodes as stand alones on the next 2 Fridays.

I didn’t necessarily “forget” how good Winter Soldier was as a movie, but holy shit - it really might still be the best entry in the entire series. Nearly a perfect film, not just within the MCU but on its own.

My kids are watching for the first time, going through with them in order. Incredibly fun.

Trying to decide how to introduce Spidey. I'm wondering if I show them the Tobey one just to get an actual Spidey origin story in and just try to explain to them that this isnt' the same Spidey we'll see but it gives a background of how he became Spidey (which might be confusing) or if I just let him kinda show up and start being awesome in the MCU without any backstory.
