I couldn't have put this better myself - it's 100% spot on.
I think every parent has these feelings from time to time but sometimes it just feels like my best isn't good enough, inadequacies, etc... even though I know deep down I'm doing fine and my kids are doing great.
Knowing that at one point your parents probably felt the same way is some comfort, especially considering that generally speaking we're all ok and everything turned out fine.
My relationship with my parents, as you said, has never been better. Knowing that they're there to offer guidance and wisdom since they went through the same exact things is extremely comforting.
