Re: Dave Matthews Band to Launch Limited-Run SiriusXM Channel

I have de-edited version. A friend reworked the opening and de-normalized all of Sirius's wacky "track by track" normalization:

Re: Dave Matthews Band to Launch Limited-Run SiriusXM Channel

So they are likely given the source separated into tracks by DMB, or maybe they do it themselves. But then Sirius normalizes each track individually. So a song like Grey Street gets boosted a little, maybe none at all, but then something like Let You Down or Christmas Song gets boosted a lot. It provides even volume on all tracks for air. If you listen to the raw 12/27/96 or 8/19/08, you hear the jumps in volume at the track markers for several songs. It's especially annoying with live shows because it's while the crowd is cheering, so it can be jarring to your listen.

My friend identified all the track markings for the show, found middle level, and brought all songs back in line with the rest of the show so it's a smooth listening experience like a Live Trax. For this particular one, the Sirius intro is on top of Grey Street opener, so he used the show intro from the audience tape and cut the Sirius intro and spliced the AUD intro. He also had to replace the opening four notes on Carter's hi-hat for Grey Street. But you'd never know it if I didn't just tell you.

I know I’ve said this before, but the tour opener from Hartford 2010 would be a fantastic show to broadcast-

    https://www.antsmarching.org/tour/Vi...hp?ShowID=4153

Yes, YMDT goes off the rails a little bit, but the Alpine show they just broadcasted had a Last Stop trainwreck lol

Hartford 2010 may be the most overrated two night stand this band has ever done

I think it's deserving of praise. 4 awesome liberations and a song debut. The performances are 2010. If that's not your thing, understandable. But I can imagine being at that tour opener and thinking it was the best show ever, lol. At the very least, it is a unique set and a huge relief after 2008-2010 sets becoming pretty stale. I'd personally love to have that show(s) in the Live Trax series.

While on this topic, what are some other overrated weekends? I think maybe SPAC 2008. Night 2 is very good, but night 1 is... not that great in my opinion.

Why? Performances not that strong? Or are you not a fan of the set lists?

Specifically the first night. Maybe it just hasn’t aged well. The set is filled with bad songs.

SPAC 2008 Night 2 is an all time favorite for me. Amazing set list, and when of Roi's last shows.

Still wild to think we just freely have that show available now in pro audio. Such a strange painful day in the bands history, you can feel their sadness and pain coming through on stuff like bartender and especially that Two Step to close, just ripping with emotion. Just crazy to think we have freely available pro audio of it just floating in the ether now.

With the request show airing Friday, we should be getting a video or two as a teaser in the next day or so right? When did they post the early videos last time?

Link I posted has a fixed version. but the intro was edited in from the AUD. You wouldn't know it without me just saying it, though.

Here's my wishlist for the live request show:

    Too Much
    Spoon
    Sugar Will
    Raven
    Big Eyed Fish
    Can't Stop
    American Baby

    Interesting unusual solo stuff.

I sent in a video request for him to play Baby Blue. Tomorrow our first born would have been 15 years old. He was born super premature at 23 weeks and lived for 17 days. Whenever I hear that song for whatever reason, it makes me think of him and I thought it would be cool of him to play it right around what would have been his birthday.

Do they tell you if your video was selected before the show? Or is it a surprise? Anyone selected in a previous show?
