Last night BOWA went into that alternate ending jam that has happened a couple times since last year. Just that short 30-60 sec was so exciting. One of those more improvisatory moments that doesn’t happen as much anymore, and their excited energy about it really resonated as they all swooped in and Jeff went off.

Re: 2022 Setlist Game / Chat Thread

Loved the Main set loved the E1 still disappointed in the E2 being DDTW without anything after it. Modern day DDTW is the perfect example of self sabotage by DMB. The slower and less wall of sound version from the late 90s early 2000s was fine then they screwed it up and then started overplaying it. Wish they would have had another song to close out that would've kept the momentum from PFWYG going.

Love the walkdown outro continuing its course in BOWA this tour
    Love Pig being played
Two Step toward the end was dope
Rashawn needs to stop using the higher registers in songs like #41 (wish I could've let him sit next to me 2 weeks ago for Mohegan TAB and goose and explained to him how TAB's Jennifer Hartswick plays the trumpet with power and grace without being annoyingly high in the treble clef)

Interesting that there was no baritone guitar or raised b acoustic songs in the entire MSG N2 set. One thing I was happy about was Bayou being played N1 and getting a baritone guitar song N2 knowing it wouldn't be Bayou but alas here we are. First show I personally went to that I can remember having both the drum solo intro to both Gravedigger and Say Bye.

I hate cornbread but I have enjoyed someone else soloing in person in a more blues rock or blues style (Lawlor at DC and Whitefield at MSG) than the slide guitar solo that Tim does that to me I just don't care for in that specific song.

Some people hate covers when a band has 3,000 songs of material to choose from. I'm one of those people.

    Better than the Camden shows?

Having been at both nights, both venues, I could not feel more opposed to that statement.

And off the top of my head, 55% or 60% of the songs were exactly the same.

I remember Camden had Fish-Tender, What You Are, Raven, Rye Whiskey, Watchtower, Grace, Fool to Think, COCO, Sam Cop,

MSG had Cornbread, Gravedigger, BOWA, PFWYG, Pig, If Only, maybe the Riff?

Aside from those differences, which amount to like 4 songs per night (7-8 over the two nights), I'm Failing to see the overwhelming advantage of MSG....

MSG N2 was the best of the 4 shows by far. As an overall weekend, I still give the edge to MSG.

Did you really list come on come on and sam cop and rye whiskey as proof that Camden was better lol

Shows like Saturday night at the Garden are why I've seen the band so many times. One of the most fun shows I've seen in quite a while.

Would you rather hear Fool in the Rain or Can't Stop?

And if the answer is "I'd rather hear The Stone," that's not going to happen. Covers don't take the spots of greats/rarities in the setlists.

I was at both two-night stands (Camden and MSG). I remember leaving Camden N2 thinking it was the worst two-night stand I've seen live in many years. MSG - I thought night 1 was horrible and night 2 was fantastic...so I guess that gives MSG the edge?

Care to explain your logic behind why the band can’t play a good song in the place of another cover? Can’t wait to hear it!

Just history. This band plays sets full of landmines all the time, regardless of how many covers are in the set. Meanwhile, great songs sit on the shelf for entire tours. And you rarely see a cover/weak song on the printed setlist swapped out for a great song during the show. So there's no reason to think, "damn, if only they hadn't played Sledgehammer for the fiftieth time, we could've had Bartender!" Dave just doesn't take that approach to setlists, and never has. If you don't get the Sledge, you'll get Shaken.

It's good, but I just don't want it every show. I wish they would bring back Burning Down the House with Buddy. I'd be curious to hear that.

As far as multi night shows for 2022 go my vote is the Gorge. 4 Libs, 2 of the shows are the 2 most rare sets of the tour plus the N3 encore/drone show. Gorge wins 2022 in my opinion.

I mean, yea I agree but at the end of the day Dave is only gonna play like 60% of his catalog a tour anyway. Same as it ever was. Won’t make me dislike covers that are played pretty well bc of it already knowing a lot of great songs I would love ain’t getting played.

Easily. One of the better runs I can remember. Msg looked awesome but they did nothing different this winter than summer. Usually they make an effort to add new songs in. Based on the setlist *gasp* looked recycled from a few months ago as a whole.

DMB has always, and will always, play covers. They WILL happen at a show. DMB has had an allotted time for popular covers in their setlists since 1991, The very tired, snarky forum response of "I'd rather they cover Last Stop" was dumb when I read it on here 13 years ago, and it's still equally as dumb.

Fool in The Rain is a good cover that people love. I actually feel the same about Sledgehammer, but I've had enough of it.

Re: 2022 Setlist Game / Chat Thread

Anyone who thinks this wasn't a great show is out of their damn minds:

    Pantala Naga Pampa
    Rapunzel
    #41
    Pig
    So Much To Say
    Anyone Seen the Bridge
    Too Much
    Best of What's Around
    Say Goodbye
    Steady as We Go
    Warehouse
    Two Step
    Pay For What You Get
    Don't Drink The Water

Songs like Shake Me and Jimi/ Cornbread are totally ok with the above songs.
