Did the Giants think it was the second round tonight?

When was the last time we traded up for a defensive player in the 1st round? Worked out pretty well.

You’re asking for a corner and that’s the one position this team continually gets wrong. TJ Watt sure seems like a good pick. I’m gonna lean on the side of basically every draft pundit saying this kid is great. Multiple people said he is the best defensive player in the draft pound for pound.

You seem to be basing your entire opinion of him off of his size which he has done nothing but prove it doesn’t matter. Go watch his tape. He will fit perfectly in this D.

And you thinking edmunds is a bad pick again is more proof you don’t know what you’re saying. Kid played way too much last year and barely made any mistakes. I think he deserves a chance to grow a little, he proved he belongs.

It's like the Giants were intentionally looking for a QB that Eli could beat in competition for the starting job

The criticism from TS and Muskie (at least in regards to the draft history) is totally warranted.

However, the trade and drafting of Bush is the absolute best move they could have made last night. Aside from the height (Bush is 3 inches shorter) his numbers are almost identical to Shazier. He was the second highest rated MLB in the draft. What would you have preferred they do? What player would they have taken with the picks traded away that would make them better then they will be with Bush?

Speaking of the picks traded away, I actually think the "price paid" is a lot better than what I was hearing they would have supposedly had to give away to get to the ten spot.

The cherry on top, the Steelers swooped in and took the guy the Bengals were going to take.

I was more just joking as it's amazing how little success they have had relative to their amount of talent they have had the last few years, of course talent matters in general and hopefully the pick works out well for Steelers fans.

We have an extra third this year and next year, so essentially all they gave up was the 2nd.

I can get being worried about his size, but he isnt a sub package player and never was. Every scouting report says this guy is an instant starter and a 3 down guy.

They addressed the biggest need and did it without having to give up their 2nd and 3rd this year- which is what you were referring to above.

Any worry about him shouldnt be more than any general worry you have about any draft pick.

Also im not sure Ive ever seen a player get drafted into the NFL in the first round and not smile or tear up about it one single time before Haskins. He knows how fucked he is even though he gets to play at home.

He literally showed more emotion reacting to the Giants pick than him getting drafted himself

I agree with you. They've horribly under achieved starting with the "Tebow Game" in 2011.

    I wholeheartedly agree with you.

And, at least for now (i.e. before he plays even a preseason down), he's far from a "sub-package" LB.

He's better than Jon "I'll have my back to the line of scrimmage when the ball is snapped" Bostic.

    There's your sub package jabroni.

As a Skins fan that's probably about the same reaction I'd have to getting drafted to them . On paper they had a really nice night last night, but I know better than to get too excited at this point.

I think thats how most fans of the nfl in general would think the same if they were in that situation too. Probably the worst organization in all of professional sports.
