Scutero MVP. I can only laugh. Good for him and it's a good example of a player over-achieving in a medium-sized marked with less pressure.

    lol this.

he's 22 and already got decent money for a teenager. he's shown almost no improvement at the plate and he's not going to learn how to hit in the majors

Iglesias' celieing is, imo, a 9 hitter for a mediocre NL team. His defense is obviously fantastic...but he's never going to hit enough to play in boston.

he's a great septemeber call-up. if this team was in place to win, i want iglesias in the game from the 7th inning on for defensive purposes. other than that, i dont see anything about him that says he's an MLB player

Farrell being introduced right now... I can get behind this guy. Seems like he just wants to get off the stage and go right to work.

Inglesias is so much better with the glove than any other options in the system. Even if he can hit .250, you can find offense elsewhere. His defense can cover holes created at 3rd and 2nd. It's the AL, you can hide one bad bat in your lineup. I mean, Christ, the Tigers are in the world series hiding 3 of them.

He can't hit .250 though. This lineup already has holes and there is no Justin Verlander on the pitching staff.

i'd be surprised if he hit over .200 in the majors. that's more than a hole in your lineup, doesn't matter if it's #9 spot. defense doesn't make up for an automatic out every time

yeah and now he's saynig he told will that he was in a game in shea stadium and made a bad error during "seat cushion day" and got pumbled with seat cushions. it was checked and that never happened

when costas asked him about it last night he said, "well, just because we live in a fact checking era" whatever that means

I felt a little bit bad for Bobby V. after the press conference yesterday where it seemed like the Sox were chasing Farrell even last year. So, I was thinking maybe he had no chance from the start... but after his interview last night, I don't feel bad at all. Guy is a clown just like I thought 11 months ago.

    yeah, per year.

i'd think a lot of teams would give him a 2yr/16mil or something like that. 2yr/22-25mil is a lot. he's not declining though. i like it.

he didnt blow out his achillies, if he did there's no way you can bring him back.

No problems with this. We're not going to compete until 2014 anyway (most likely), he's just filling the spot for now. Literally no risk.

Good signing. It's what he's worth without committing to him for longer than he'll be effective. Nice start to the off-season so far. Maybe throw a 2-3 year deal at Haren and see if you can get him for a good price...
