Busted Stuff is the best overall DMB album.
I dislike what Tim brings to the band. (He needs to put away the electric guitar, and while we are at it the horn section needs to relax and accompany the band instead of improv soloing every song)
Get out.

I don't drink very much at shows, I don't want to forget the show, so I may have one beer, and I usually DD anyway. So I don't find drunken bros funny, I'd imagine if I was immensley inebriated I might. But most of the time they just annoy the fuck out of me.

    • Away From the World is horrible. liked it at first, but its lazy, weak, and the production is awful. Sweet sounds like a tin can.
    • Steve Lillywhite is overrated. Just because his name is on AFTW it must be good... NOT
    • Rob Cavallo, Stephen Harris, Glen Ballard > Lillywhite
    • Busted Stuff is a good album, the lillywhite sessions aren't good
    • Big Whiskey is a good album
    • Everyday isn't terrible as most say
    • Some of Stand Up is good
    • I like Rashawn but DMB doesn't need a trumpet, its too much
    • Tim needs to go, or lay off the distortion... DMB isn't a rock band
    That ends my laundry list...

those are quite unpopular, and i disagree. Also DMB has always been a "rock band", but I know what you mean. You are correct on Big Whiskey though

I love Thank You, and they should cover more Sly and The Family Stone. That was a fucking fantastic band. Thank You could close any show I'm at and I'd be happy.

Absolutely agree. To your Butch comments, they need him. NEED him. Best era of the band. Two Step, Rapunzel and Warehouse were much better with him. And he's absolutely essential for Sugar Will and Hello Again.

I said this in another thread, but while I understand that many people feel that keys would add to the band at this point, there are other keyboardists besides Butch. Ray Paczkowski (from Dave and Friends) would make a better fit for DMB than Butch ever was. You'd never have anything like a long Jimi Thing scat solo with him.

I'd sit through a tour with Butch in all his 2006-2007 era excess if that meant they'd bring back the Seek Up->Linus & Lucy/Heartbeat->Rapunzel run.

The first 2 are hardly unpopular...

The third may be considered unpopular by some definition, but I imagine the vote would be more split than weighted in either direction.

I don't know, I don't really mind the scat solos so much, but they very much need a keyboardist, even if it's not Butch, whom I LOVE hearing. A keyboardist is the one thing missing from DMB's sonic palette. They already have a guitarist, although he's more of a rhythm guitarist. Having no keys is a hole that my ears say needs to be filled. I think of them as more of a jazz-leaning band than a hard rock-leaning band, which is how they often sound with so much Tim on every song. The rest of the band don't play off him as well or seem to know where to fit him in as well as they did with Butch.
