I love what Boyd added. Hopefully they have some violin (or strings) on the "new" version...

This is by FAR my favorite version of this song, I listen to it all the time. I have zero desire for Boyd back in the band but little things like this performance of Bismarck shows that the violin adds so much to their sound.
God I hope the version we get is structured the same way they played it live, with Jeff getting a killer saxophone solo and getting to riff over the last chorus. I couldn't believe when Tim said in this interview that the studio Sam Cop literally had the horn section in the bridge, then took it out in overdubs. That section was one of my favorite parts of the song, and they literally always kept the horn part in the live version. It's like- why would you choose to make your album version less interesting?
As much as I want Bismarck on the album, and especially for it to come back in rotation live, I really want this album to be of a time and place- all recorded in one session and fitting really well together as a unit. After CT, it's something that I feel is important for this next album. If they do use the 2015 Cavallo Bismarck instead of re-recording it, hopefully it won't sound out of place.
