My XS Max screen is scratched to shit. I haven't bothered with a screen protector for a few generations and it hasn't been an issue but this one is taking a beating.

Did they change the type of glass?

Anyone have an XR? Curious how people like it. I remember hearing something negative about the camera when it came out but can't remember specifically what it was.

Got the XR yesterday and am having a problem with the mail app. Every time I delete emails, it then loads old emails. I remember this happening to me on an older iphone. I've googled and none of the solutions seem to fit this OS (12.1.3). I was on the phone with Apple support and they are looking in to an answer but don't have one and are going to get back to me. Anyone have any ideas?

I made it work. I just had to go to my Comcast account and delete all the old emails on there. Now there is nothing to download but new ones as they come. Aside from the problem I was having, the mail app is perfectly fine.

Old message but I hope by now you picked up some screen protectors, they're dirt cheap and they work like magic. I use them on my Garmin Forerunner 735XT and already paid for itself when I crunched my wrist in a changing cubicle door by accident and saw the screen shattered, but once I removed the shattered protector I saw my mint real screen surface underneath. Applied another protector and on my way.

Can't believe people woudln't use them on phones too, I swear by them. The Tech Armor HD Ballistic Glass rules, works fine with the Otterbox Commuter series cases too.

Anyone here have issues with iOS 12.2? I’m running an iPhone 6 preordered/from launch, and I’m running considerably slow compared to the last iOS patch.

Leaning towards the XR - it's also $150 cheaper. My one hang up is that I like the look and size of the X better.

this happened again this morning. found fixes like toggle short name on/off, or turn it off and turn it on, or make a slight edit to a contact and then reboot.

nothing works. last time it just worked itself out, but it is the most annoying thing i've ever encountered involving an iphone

I've had that happen before on the android side, it turned out to be carrier based.

It’s a 5 year old iPhone... it’s not going to play nice with new iOS updates. With phones older than 2-3 years, updates start causing more issues than they solve.

Update... Have had the XR for a little over a week and love it so far. The adjustment to no home button was pretty seamless. Screen quality is solid, but nothing that was crazy noticeable coming from the 6s.

The battery life is something else though... I've just gone 48 hours and still have 18% left.

With the news that Apple is killing iTunes, anyone know if whatever format they move to will be compatible with all of the shit we have in our itunes collection? If what I have doesn't transfer over, i'll be done with Apple.

Yeah, this is bullshit. What about podcasts, movies, TV series, audiobooks? Not just music.

I can see them wanting to refurbish the application, but to completely get rid of it? In favour of streaming? Fuck that. So I can have even less control over the stuff I pay for?

If you’re an Apple Music subscriber and have everything in your iCloud Music library you’ll be fine. I’m sure your regular library will still live too. Isn’t it just the store that they are taking down?

I'm not an Apple Music subscriber, but have bought tons of music through the store and have it downloaded on my computer. I generally have it playing most of the day when I'm home. If it goes away, i'll be pissed enough to never buy from Apple again.

hi, my employer updated my iphone 6 to an iphone 8. i still have an iphone 6 for my personal life. the lightning cable that comes with the 6 and the 8 is the same, right? iphone 8 isn't like usb-c or whatever it is and that means it's a different cable? i'm not finding clear answers but i can just be stupid. asking because it'll be way easier to carry 1 cable around instead of 2. thanks
