Kevin reminded us long ago that we should be flattered that people care enough to place such an honor upon us.

Sacrificing DC is painful.

So Last Stop liberation for DC2016.

Probably not but people also said Let You Down would never happen and we got it!

Anyone seeing Mumford & Sons on their Arrow Through the Heartland tour?

Meh, some people just get picked to make both sides even or because the spouse is in the wedding. Best man and maid of honor are the true honors.

Is it polite to ask if you are just a filler for the wedding party?

Yeah, he probably just couldn't have passed on the whole thing. Filler groomsmen would be expected to be there anyways, even if they weren't apart of the wedding party.

Sorry Tyler . . . .no escaping it. Barring getting really creative.

Now that you should do. If you like DC, you'll love the gorge. Only place that compares to Dc IMO. Had so much fun in 2014, im going back this year.

If you don't mind me asking, roughly how much do you think the entire trip cost for you to get out there, tickets, camping, food, etc?

Well my last trip i went from Portland and toured Oregon/Washington for a week before the shows and flew out of Portland due to us getting a fantastic rate on a SUV there. This year I'm flying to Denver and driving to the gorge.

i would say roughly $750-$1000 this includes flight.

$300-400 flight(pricey to fly to Seattle)
$50 gorge camping(terrace camping was like $200 per vehicle)
    $120 3-day lawn pass.
    $100 food/beer
    Transportation ??

There is a really nice Gorge FAQ in the gorge thread. Pretty much breaks down everything.

You are a much more thrifty traveler than me. I think I dropped a grand just thinking about going to the Gorge.

The cheapest I'm finding for Flights and Mid-Size SUV rental combined is $834. That's a pretty good deal I think. Plus $120 for lawn ticket. Plus $50 for camping. Probably $100 for food. $120 for posters. Then probably $250 on random stuff so looking at $1500ish. Still cheaper than I thought it would be

I'm not back reading. When do most of you think the weekend will be this year?

I just hope it's not back to back with Alpine again.

There is a really nice Gorge FAQ in the gorge thread. Pretty much breaks down everything.

I can add to this... we did Gorge from Chicago the last two years.
And yes the Gorge folks put together a fantastic FAQ that took a ton of work, so read it and you can post questions in the Gorge FAQ thread.

    $400 flight
Camping pass varies - how many people? Premier camping is great, tickets are $200/car. General camping is about $100/car, and Terrace is $350 or so and much harder to get.

If you want to do lawn you can pick up tickets at the gorge for cheap or even free. Several people in our group showed up last year without tickets and found them each day for $20-$30, and one day for free. Some in our group bought 3-day lawn passes off the boards for $100 each (3 days)

We rented a larger SUV both times and it was $450-$500. Someone in our group got a medium SUV last year for $320. This is for Thursday-Tuesday.

Food and beer is what you want to spend, obviously. We dropped $100 at the liquor store easily.

Then posters, merch, beer at the show, etc - obviously that is all up to you.

We flew in Wed-Tues so we had hotel costs on Wed night and Mon night.

^^yeah premier camping not terrace. also, i forgot how expensive alcohol was out there. especially liquor. Like crazy expensive.

I never knew tickets were that easy to score out there. Id still probably get the lawn pass, i hate having to look for tickets. And i need the peace of mind that comes with having them in hand.

Agree completely. I don't want to spend all day at camp wandering around looking for tickets. But for some people, that's there thing I guess. A fun way to meet people? Who knows.

We definitely spent more than I quoted but we went all out on food, alcohol, etc.....
