This is another argument I can't stand seeing -- it might hurt Wentz's feelings? Sorry, but if he's that mentally weak, he's not going to make it anyway.
The Patriots drafted 10 QB's while Tom Brady was their starter, including a 3rd-rounder in 2008 by the name of Kevin O'Connell. I'm pretty sure they weren't trying to replace Brady at that point, nor were they worried about shaking his confidence. It's part of the game. If you see a guy available that you think can become a contributor to your team, whether it's this year, next year or even two years from now, pull the trigger.
And again, say what you want, but Carson Wentz has not taken the Eagles' most important snaps of the season since 2016. It's been someone else every year since. That matters.
