I would so prefer this over Death on the High Seas and Gravedigger.

A great song pre Tim. This should have no electric. 02-03 versions were great.

This one is so wonderful. But like a lot of songs it was better in the early 2000s. I think the guitar part was much crisper. But overall is a fantastic song. Loved getting it at oak mountain 2014. I would take it every single show.

I love Digging a Ditch, I just think it struggles from shitty song placement too often. I feel like it's always just in the weirdest spots, which might contribute to some people souring on it.

Agreed. Beautiful song. And it's always one of the musical highlights when it's played at any show I attend. I know it doesn't bring the energy level through the roof or anything, but they sound consistently great on this tune.

Totally a great song; also one of my favorite grooves from Carter, so syncopated and the placement of his hits are perfect. I think it works best when played before a more high energy tune, but either way it's a killer song that I enjoy anytime.

The lws version just hits you a lot harder, and in a good way. It has emotion right off the bat.

I can't believe people hate this song. It's a freaking classic and one of so many great tunes on LWS!

Always loved this song, since tLWS, even the BS version, as well as live. Thoughts on the best live version?

Last night's Drive In version was smooth.

Nice. That's the LT26 show (7/30/2003). Listening through many of the released live versions now (Thanks Amazon for having half the Live Trax series!). Another song where I'll take pretty much any version. Such a smooth and chill song. Love it.

Definitely not saying these are the best versions but 6.26.11 and 9.8.02 are pretty good, imo

Also don't sleep on Stefan's bass in the LWS version. Man. Really one of my all-time favorites and a blast to play on the guitar.

This song is much better without tim on electric. It is an immediate skip on any LT post tim. Perfect in 2003!
