Here you find all the articles by Jake. I don’t see anything similar.

I often go to this other site to understand more about the meaning of certain songs. Today, for example, looked for What You Are

I did. In Brazil, she is a sort of goddess. Never liked her too much, anyway.

As far as I know, the story is quite simple: in 2010 she released this CD/DVD in Madison Square Garden, with a lot of duets, including Seu Jorge (fantastic musician) and Nelly Furtado. The duet with Dave Matthews Band (Dallas 9.11.2010) was included in the bonus DVD. At the end, it was an attempt of the singer to have an international appeal. It didn’t fully worked, in my opinion, but the CD/DVD was a triple platinum, so wasn’t too bad either.

anyone ever buy anything from the ads that appear on the top of the screen on this website? I keep seeing a cool Jameson Whiskey brown shirt that I would like to buy but not sure if the vendor selling it (cotosen) is reputable. I realize that some ads are generated by the websites you visit but I feel like I'm not the only ones that see those shirts. Thanks.

I just listened up through to the encore and this has gotta be one of my new favorites. It's certainly one of the more unique setlist's I've listened to in a while and everyone is really crushing it. LeRoi is up front for his solos, and I like what the LL are doing on most of what I've heard so far. Really happy I picked this up, cause it'll be a go to show for me for a bit. JTR, Prelude, Mother Father, Sleep to Dream Her and even True Reflections is a fun listen with Roi going off on the end. Thank you everyone who helped me pull the trigger on this.

Always wanted my first time at Red Rocks to be DMB, but it looks like it will be a comedy show from Bill Burr in September. Any good places to stay/drink for a weekend? Never been to Colorado.

I decided to listen to LT31 and I understand it may have made sense in 2001, but who the hell decided it would be a good idea to put the Lovely Ladies up there with the band? It sounds so cringey and horribly dated listening back now. They added to nothing EXCEPT maybe LBV and the end of Stay.

I know there's a ton of hate for the Lovely Ladies, but does that extend to Listener Supported? LS was my first exposure to live DMB, and I played the shit outta that DVD...but I thought the LLs added quite a bit to show. Did they ever get any appreciation from the fan base, or have they always kinda been in the shithouse with the Ants? I *thought* that the bitterness towards them started around '01 because having the LL meant having near-identical setlists...true story, or am I waaay off here?

today is the 25th anniversary of that Sweet Briar Dave solo show that was released a few years ago. A couple of cool tweets commemorating the occasion:

I had never heard of the Sweet Briar show until today, so thanks for posting.

On the commercial release, it doesn't look like What Will Become Of Me is on the listing. Any ideas on why it's not included?

Also, is this Dave and Tim? The setlist indicates Dave & Tim but the photos I've seen only show Dave.

    https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/dave-...-53d633e1.html

It looks like the band played there in 1994 and there's a note on Setlist FM that they played in the dining hall. But the Dave and Tim show looks outdoors, unless outdoors was the dining hall?

    https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/dave-...-73d6e619.html

    Anyways, thanks for posting!

Honestly I found it refreshing. My first live album of the bands that I loved was Listener Supported, so I like hearing them every once in a while. I think they add a bit to JTR, and True Reflections as well. I don't need them at shows, but if they were there I wouldn't really care. It usually beats Rashawn going for it sometimes. Now that they have Buddy though, it's not super important.

Dave was very ... Dave , that afternoon. He was talking a lot (the volume of the talks is a bit low) and making some mistakes (mostly on the second half).
    Mix is below average.

The versions of the songs are all quite short, for a total of 27 tracks.
My favorites here are Crash into me and Blue Water. I also liked Pay For What You Get, Typical, LIOG, Angel from Montgomery, #41 and Seek Up.
    Setlist is definitely above average.

I’ll admit I was in this camp too, but I no longer agree that CT is an incohesive album. Each song is a “love” song for either his wife or kids. Within that there is a call for unity and understanding in most songs.

I’m being hyperbolic, but in terms of a cohesive, connected collection of songs, CT is damn near a concept album — a love letter to his family.

The older I get, and as my wife and I watch our kids grow, I can really appreciate a lot of what CT is trying to do.

It can be wholly thematic while also being an absolute trainwreck of a finished product.

The consistent themes make it cohesive. But people talk about it like it is a collection of completely random snippets of music.

Now production-wise, I agree that it is largely a train wreck. And my appreciation for what it was trying to be doesn’t mean I love the album, but it still gets some play around here.

I hear that, the production definitely perpetuates the feeling of randomness. As a collection of B-sides it is passable but as an actual album in the DMB canon it is an abomination.

Watching Carter is always a show on the show. I think that they should have always a Carter-Cam, in every video recording.

Check out Carter’s drumming in this video from Mansfield, 06.10.2016 (released on Vic Firth YT channel)
