did you grow up in South Bend or just living there now? Just noticed your location......I'm a South Bend native.

Just living here now. I grew up in Lafayette and lived in Noblesville just off of Greenfield and 146 (less than 2 minutes from DC) for a few years, as well. DC has been my home venue since high school... always made the trip back even when living in TN for a couple of years. One of the best places to see the band.

I love the Bend. Visit there all the time, as my family are all Irish Catholic (so have always been ND fans). Plus my sister just graduated from St. Mary, so we would visit her a lot and hit up nearly all the home games for awesome tailgates. Have a good family friend there by now that we love staying with, who coincidentally, had a widowed husband that used to coach the ND lacrosse team.

Speaking of all these breweries, I'm a big fan myself. Will be bringing Pipeworks and a few other Illinois brews. I don't plan on wandering too much at creek this year but wouldn't mind meeting some of ya!

Anyone else at Dead Creek for camping this year? I just hope we can take the ice cream truck to the show again! Oh and no crazy storms to destroy camp.

Hard to believe that I'm rapidly approaching living out of South Bend longer than I lived in South Bend. Called it home for 22 years before moving to Indianapolis. Hope you find it a good time....

Agree on the Creek....but I've only been going for 10 years!

For shows this tour I had TM pit tickets, I usually got them in the mail on Monday if the show was on Saturday. So you should get them a little less than a week before the show.

Yes, they do. Love NvU and Lizard King, their flagships. Also trying to get my hands on a couple bottles of Citra to bring over there.

That is the only show I have missed at DC since I started going. Honestly couldn't tell you why I didn't go. I was pissed I missed Warehouse and PNP-Rapunzel when I saw the setlist.

Good info. We are staying at the Sheraton at Keystone Crossing area and plan to check out some breweries and craft beer bars before the show both days so looks like I have my list now.

You're not too far from Broadripple which has plenty of solid more unique eating/drinking choices.

If you don't mind traveling a bit I highly recommend Twenty Tap on 54th and College Ave. Usually one of the best tap lists in the city and their food is dynamite.

Also, for food Fat Dans Deli is a must stop at 54th and college (right next door to Twenty Tap). They also will have solid beers on tap but their wings are the best in the city IMO. Smoked and flash fried. So delicious. They also have amazing burgers, sandwiches, and a dynamite brisket sandwich.

In Keystone Crossing I believe the District Tap is also a solid place for beer and food, but I might travel a bit east and go to the Ale Emporium. Loaded tap list and their Hermanaki Wings are almost as good as Fat Dans.

For Breweries, check out Deviate at 96th and Michigan rd. They are my favorite in the city currently along with Black Acre. Black Acre is a bit of a drive, but if you have time it's completely worth it. You can find their beers in some stores.

But my favorite beer bar in the city is the Koelschip on 25th and Delaware. They offer sours/saisons/and funky beers that aren't normally at places like Hopcat. Hopcat is fine, but the food sucks IMO. Crack fries aren't as good as Twenty Tap fries or Brugge Frites......plenty of better options.

I could go on.....but work is getting in the way.

The Hopcat in Grand Rapids is nothing like the Hopcat in broadripple. It's much larger, more commercialized, and their food is less than mediocre. There are much better places in the city. Grand Rapids Hopcat is awesome....love that place.

I agree with Kevin's suggestions (Have not been to the breweries though, so can't comment there) except about Hopcat. I dig it and rather like the place. Yes, there are better places to go (in Broadripple even), but I think its just fine

Yes, I agree. Hopcat is "just fine". Better options elsewhere but you won't hate it.

Have a friend that lives in walking distance to Black Acre. Hell i even got a Growler last night from Black Acre. That might be one of my favorite breweries right now. I have yet to have a bad drink at that place.

The Hermanaki Wings are the best wings I have ever had. I haven't had Fat Dans, but obviously need to stop there soon.

Fat Dans are just a different wing because they are hickory smoked and flash fried. Most of the time they basically fall off the bone because of how tender they are. They don't need any sauce and I don't usually get any with them...they stand by themselves.
