Last year I flew in to ALB and met my buddy who drove from MD. We stayed at a Days Inn less than 3 miles away from the airport. The hotel itself was pretty ratty but the drive was quite manageable to/from the shows, and my wallet was much happier than it would've been if we had instead attempted to stay in Saratoga Springs.

Also if you do stay in the ALB area I'd highly recommend the Iron Gate Cafe downtown for breakfast or lunch!

Will you have a car? If you have a car, distance isn't an issue. Everyone likes to stay in/around downtown Saratoga but prices are high.



I've stayed closer to the Albany airport and having a car makes the distance a moot point. I end up driving to see things during the day or park in Saratoga and walk around, etc.

You could make the argument this helps people get tickets. Depending how they do confirms you would have to be early in to have a big chunk like that together of the row. Weeds out some normal 2/4 requests.

Anything that decreases WH members getting tickets is negative in my book. No one needs more than 4 together.

Oh id for sure rent a car, can get a decent discount through my airline. I googled the drive again and said its about 30 minutes to and from the Albany airport hotels. Seems doable. Now just the hard part of finding that single ticket inside the shed if i do both nights

I have to thank CScott for the recommendation last year. My wife isn't going to the shows this time but loved Saratoga so much she wants to come back to explore. This was one of her favorite meals she's ever had. We tried a ton of things on the menu and it was all amazing.

if i am just doing the lawn for one other show in this series, probably doesnt make sense to submit for it as i will end up with 4 lawn tickets and pay shipping and no SPAC, right?

Thank you for the credit - while I've opened up my table/heart/soul to you and your brother over the years, and will obviously continue to do so going forward, I cannot take full credit here for this spectacular suggestion.

I spent probably 7 years straight going to Saratoga (even in the off-season) and never considered going to Danny simply because Italian restaurants are a dime a dozen here in RI and I always had a list of places I always had to visit. Brad was consistent enough to call me "stupid, idiot, moron, imbecile, etc" until I finally caved and went there. So credit ultimately goes back to the local

Anyways is it true that Circus Cafe is re-opening? My soul longs for a pint of captain and coke filled with dish soap and popcorn.

Kinda hard when when there are so many Saratoga staples, along with new(er) gems like Seneca/Hamlet opening up and crushing it right out the gate.

Mouton is a top 5, and can be a top 3 place for me on a good night. Just no pasta. Stick to their Cajun inspired dishes.

I'm flying in Wednesday to physically and mentally prepare for N0. That strip of bars with every DMB cover band possible was awesome. Even saw some of the crew hanging out at my first stop.
