Just piling on here. I was prepared to drop $50+ on a deluxe package with bonus studio songs, a book like something from Big whiskey, etc. Unfortunately, just no incentive to preorder anything. Song lengths, while needing to wait for the full product of course, doesn’t bode well. Too bad.

This is interesting, as when news of the recording sessions started breaking, even how Dave and Carter talked about it during the warehouse sessions, it made it sound like Dave was creating by himself, with Alagia, and Evans (which had become normal) and Carter was the first to come in. Kind of sounded like it was then Dave and Carter who very much architected the bones of the record, which I was very intrigued by.

Does not seem like the case here.

Me too! Literally, I missed the BW and AFTW packages when they came out because I was a broke bartender in my 20's. I can actually afford nice things somewhat now. I'm likely going to just "pre save" it now on Spotify sometime in the next 4 months. That's the effort I will give.

I'm not convinced those are the track times. That's what I've fully decided. Makes no sense that some niche, hi-fi streaming service with like 200,000 subscribers would have track times and nothing else would.

Can someone explain what Evans and Alagia do to get credits? Do they help write and construct the songs? What ever happened to the band helping create the music?

I remember at the Gorge in 2021, Dave mentioned in the studio that Rashawn played the riff coming out of the bridge of OATB. I thought Dave had accidentally said Rashawn instead of Jeff, but I guess this is further confirmation it was Rashawn's horn line which Jeff inherited.

I wish the full band got together to write the music together.
But this isn't surprising in this case. We've known since the pandemic that during COVID, Dave and Rob Evans would get together to work. Then they brought in Carter. Then brought in Tim, Stefan and Buddy. Then the horns.
It was happening with social distancing and whatnot. You can see all the mask-wearing in today's Madman's Eyes video.

I'm glad MME doesn't have the scream during the bridge. But I like how he did it during the debut performance, it was more like a belt and not a scream. It sounded good.

Ya, and the "surprise" as quoted by Dave was that we were getting some new music that no one anticipated coming.

The surprise died around this time last year. It's now expected and what was expected is not what is coming out. We're getting that pandemic album, when they've had 2 years now to go back and record it the normal way.
