It's an awful venue plus it's a place where you go if you have excess demand in Baltimore/DC/Philly or you want to capture all markets with one show. DMB will be a fixture at Camden and/or one of the DC venues most summers already.

Do we think Jacksonville and Charleston return as 2 night stands or was that a 1 tour thing?

yea i think you missed his point.

but yikes that is roughhh. i am surprised they still have any platinum seats and kinda shows the BS that is platinum as there is obviously no demand for these seats so they should all be the normal price.

Would they ever cancel a show if sales are bad or do they get the same money regardless of how many people go?

first part: yes, they would and have canceled shows because of poor sales

second: I think they get the same money but even so I don't think they want the embarrassment of playing a show to 3-4 thousand people in a cavernous empty room

Doubtful we see many of these fall west coast venues come back anytime soon for fall/winter tours. Seattle still has tons of uppers and so does SLC and Portland. Idaho is the only venue that sold well and it's much smaller.

Seattle is almost sold out. I'm not sure what you mean by "tons of uppers". There's some limited view close to the stage. The 100 levels directly across from the stage were not part of the initial onsale. They only started selling them after the rest of the venue was nearly sold out.

Seattle is selling much better. Just minus the uppers in the opposite side of the stage:

Chicago sold faster than I thought, only uppers left. I think scalpers got a lot of them though.

Having over 15 sections still have seats left is not close to selling out regardless of them being side stage which in many cases have a better view of the entire band than most of the crowd.

You're telling me a metro as big as Seattle that hasn't had a full band show since 1996 can't fill those reasonably priced uppers at the back of house and sell those side stage seats which have no limited view disclosure?

It will be a near sell out by the time the show happens. And while there has not been a full band show in Seattle, we do get 3 shows a year at Gorge, so selling this much just 2 months after Gorge is pretty good.

Not a huge fan of stadiums, but would go under the right conditions. We saw them at PNC park--Zac Brown Band opened. Wrigley N2, Jason Mraz opened. Hoping to go to the Gorge next year for the first time, so Cleveland and or Pittsburgh would likely be the only other market we hit up.

Vancouver in the winter was not a great idea. Should have played outdoors in the summer.

Well, as much as I was excited that they finally did a west coast fall tour, I think a lot of fans from these locations traveled to the west coast shows this summer, like within the last month. The timing seems odd. Most Seattle/portland fans go to the Gorge, Idaho too, Salt Lake will get a turnout because they have a huge fanbase there, but Nebraska seemed odd.

Denver still had platinum seats in lower reserved week of the show. And the best thing was ticket prices drop due to demand. They literally were 1/3 of on sale day. Still more than face, but not $700 a seat.

For sure. I'm happy we're finally included on a fall tour again, but from a ticket selling standpoint, I wonder if the shows would sell better if they had hit the area in the spring, then come back and do Gorge Labor Day.

its unbelievable how basically every stop still has 1/3 (maybe even more) of the arena that haven't sold. obviously that'll change as the dates approach closer but... yikes.

I Think that’s a similar issue with Nebraska. As the show gets closer I’m sure more will sell, as I thought the 2010 show sold decently. I know many people from here that travel to see the band in Denver or Alpine because they know, or at least safely assume, they won’t be playing here in the fall. I will still be going after attending both of those this summer.

As much as some people may dislike some of these locations, it is nice and I appreciate them throwing us a bone since they haven’t been here in 12 years. Driving 8 hrs or flying to the nearest shows every summer isn’t always great. Plenty of people that seem to dislike the locations likely have a show every year within a couple hours drive.

I said exactly this, and that I thought there was Zero chance they would play places like Vancouver, Seattle & Portland as part of a Fall Tour, so close to the Gorge dates. I was ridiculed and told how wrong I was.

Well, I certainly was wrong, as they are now playing all those places. Following the announcement, more ridicule, and I suppose it was deserved.

My point still stands though. I thought there was no chance they'd schedule Fall shows in those cities, since sales would be anemic. So far, that looks to be the case.

I mean seriously, between Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, Nampa, SLC and Omaha, how many tickets are they gonna sell? Seems like they simply mapped out the freeway route from the Northeast, to get to the Midwest, and figured they might as well play some shows along the way. I bet by show day, you'll be able to get a ticket to any of these venues for $10-$20, if not for free.

Your logic here is why I think we aren't getting more than 1 or 2 stadium stops next summer. There will be 30-40% empty seats in most venues.

Take Mansfield - the pavilion always has empty seats (and I mean dozens to hundreds). You put that crowd in Fenway and it isn't even filling up lower level.
