This is a reverse JTR (Hasn't been played in the Pacific Time Zone since 2006 at the gorge)
Loving Wings also seems to be a predominantly West Coast song. Although for the past 8 years it's been more of a "never played" song

    That's just not true

The last few plays in front of crowds excluding the 2020 Live from home by request have been in the central or eastern time zones which is completely different than fully only being played exclusively in the Pacific or Mountain Time Zones:

2/15/2020 Dave & Tim in Cancun (Eastern Time Zone)
7/15/19 Dave Solo Wayland, TN (Eastern Time Zone)
1/25/17 Dave & Tim Sugarland, TX (Central Time Zone)

In 2014 Half of the 4 Loving Wings were in the Eastern Time Zone
2012 all 2 Loving Wings not played in the Pacific or Mountain Time Zone
2002 The majority of the Loving Wings (23) were played in the Eastern Time Zone

Glad to see some people sharing their positive opinions of the tour. Now people can actually appreciate the tour then rather than simply start arguing against it because Alpine was the one who said it

But yeah with '21 being so positively received '22 ended up being similar with some nice upgrades:

Better cover choices (FITR and The Maker)
Better encores (Two Step supremacy over the E2 slot a beautiful thing)
less plays of less desirable songs (Can't Stop, Bayou, SMLAM, Corn Bread all trending down)
Interesting liberations that received higher play counts
Lots of cool guests and show experiences (Gorge drones)
    Slot variety

Hopefully tours keep trending in positive directions.

Inconsistent setlists are probably their biggest issue right now, along with many great songs at 5 plays or less. Almost every other show has been good since SPAC and the Gorge is almost split down the middle with a strong N2 and second half of N3. I like where they are at in terms of how they are playing for the most part.

Agree. I've come a long way with Buddy and enjoy what he brings to the band, but this cover is awful. Sorry, I'm not there to hear the touring keyboard player sing lead on covers of mediocre songs (or good ones for that matter).

alright lets try to discuss... see how it goes...

There are songs left on the table with only a few plays literally every tour. They supposed to implement that they play every song they play on tour at least 6 times? I know you might say play the great ones more and others less but lets be real the standard songs are gonna get their time every year and naturally a few of the bust outs will sit at fewer plays, happens every year. Why point out this point in particular with this tour in particular?

I like Buddy, the first time I've enjoyed keys in DMB, BUT...

    - I don't need to hear him featured beyond anyone else in the band
    - definitely not more than Jeff
    - the Buddy chants or the songs that they're generally attached to...especially Bayou because it's bad...really?
    - don't need him on lead vocals at any time

I would, however, trade out ever having to hear Bayou live again for him doing Stevie Wonder, Rufus, Al Green, etc covers in its place. That's how much I dislike Bayou. Just as long as the covers are changed up.

2022 also the first full band tour since 2016 that did not have Can't Stop and Louisiana Bayou in the top 10 most played songs of the tour.

Fun tour. Surprised how a few songs fell off towards the end of the tour and how some never really got going. 2 of the top 3 songs played were new songs. Two Step most played encore, 2nd most closer, think that was a big part of what made this tour good. Top 3 most rare shows all in September (no surprise) but the least rare show was one of the better ones this year (Brandon).

As of yesterday I'm feeling annoyed about not getting MSG tix. Declined by WH, waiting room BS followed by tons of "Sorry, another fan beat you to these tickets..." BS. The public sale will be even worse.

I was amazed that the CitiBank pre-sale waiting for MSG N2 was 2000+. I've never had anywhere near that many even during public sales for SPAC N2.

Re: I don't know about you, but I'm feeling '22 (tour chat)

Perhaps I don't know the history on guesting as well. But I also think guests/show moments were just over the top this year:
-Derek & Susan on LIOG & Watchtower in Jacksonville
-PHJB "Just happened to be in town" at Deer Creek
-Krasno LIOG at Alpine, Break Free at Gorge
-Drone light show during Gorge N3 encore
-Orchestra and the return of the fiddle at Hollywood Bowl
-Lawlor popped up several times around the tour

I know Gorge often has guests and sometimes other places but more often one offs and such. This group this year feels pretty damn epic and headline worthy. Any other tours that stand out in excelling in this department?

Solid tour but drop the covers and throw us 2 old school rarities instead and most shows will get a .75 to 1.25 improvement.

In addition to the last 2 tours being awesome, I'm grateful for the activity of my 3 favorite songs:

    1. YNK: first time ever catching it in 2021 (Dave Solo), first time catching it full band in 2022
    2. JTR: played in 2021. Didn't catch it but gives me hope for the tours to come (an advantage of 2021 vs. 2022, wink wink)
    3. The Dreaming Tree: first time played full band in 7 years. Was lucky enough to catch it

Hope many others were able to catch favorites this year!

Well I enjoyed Fool in the Rain, but did think it eventually got overplayed on the West Coast. I'm sure it took a long time to nail that one with all those parts, so they want to get some play time with it, but it went from WOW we're getting this random Zeppelin cover, to oh shit they've played this 10 of the last 12 shows now.

Me too. One of my faves, only caught it once way back in 2010. I was so certain it would make it out west. Break Free got one play at the Gorge?

One of the worst things this band has ever done. At best, it should just be an interpolation or 60 second outro to something. Whose idea was it to bring it in as a full on song? It's not a good song to begin with. I get some of the other covers they've done over the years, even if I don't like them. But this one, I've never heard someone go damn I wish DMB would cover It's Your Thing and let the keyboard player lead it. My favorite R & B Song.

Just ugh. Immediate bathroom song. Couldn't even enjoy it. Like a cranky old man. Just went F this, beers/bathroom.

For a band in 31 years, it was! I think it's as good of a tour as we're going to get. 2021 and 2022 were both great.

Getting somewhat regular plays of Fool to Think, So Right, You Never Know, Break Free, Break For It, on top of the major return of Two Step. Not it's 20 minute version but a really good 12-15 minute version with a killer outro. Plus the new songs. I'm happy.

Enjoyed my summer tour for what it was. Huntsville was pretty vanilla, but a fun time nonetheless. Atlanta had a solid set list and I caught my first Dreaming Tree. Jax N1 was awesome as I was front row balcony right in the middle and had perfect sound and sightlines all night. Jax N2 was a little saggy in the middle but that ending run with Derek and Susan was maybe the best thing I've ever seen at a DMB concert.

Here's to hoping my MSG plans stay on track, cause that would be a great way to finish off the year.

Looking back at Jones Beach, a tour stop that had bottom 10 shows for like 12 straight years, I think it could be in the top 5. It was a beautiful night in the first time in forever, and the set was actually really really good. SPAC N1 was probably my #1 this tour, but it's a set worth looking at.

Absolutely biased, but Gorge N2 has to be it, right?
